AAP Party Donation Trendline and what they can teach Startups and Entrepreneurs

Just pulled out the report of AAP donations (by NEW members) from their website – https://aaptrends.com/reports/donationtimeline/

Clearly SIGNUPS are:

–  PERCEPTION driven – see the near collapse after the exit poll day.

– SENTIMENT driven – see the collapse after the prison drama.

It will be interesting to see what happens today onwards – when Shazia Ilmi has resigned and so has Capt. Gopinath

Lesson for startups?

– Even if there is shit flying around, keep the cleaning crew indoors and wipe the mess. DON’T LET THE STINK OUT.

– PLEASE NEVER do ANTI SENTIMENT stuff (abuse partners / VCs ) – the bad sentiment can kill!

This was expected right ? Why will party require funds post election !! They were asking funds to fight elections..

They have a 20 year plan no? Who will fight the Delhi elections? And they are a CAUSE not an EVENT?

  1. You are trying to deduce Signup and Approval rates, which reflects the cause of the organization, with Funding drive for fighting Elections, which is an Event. Its like saying that, Since their is a complete drop of funding after the deadline of a crowd funding campaign, it means that the project is now Dead.

Since this was a “No-target” fund drive, so you cannot say that they failed to raise enough money. I think the kind of fund they did raised and the results they produced in terms of ground level mobilization and the end result of winning 4 seats. I will look forward to re-invest when they run another Fund drive.

  2. Good point and well taken!
