Advice for women entrepreneurs on how to succeed in the online media/ digital/ technology space

Hi, I run a magazine: wwwireframe.com meant primarily for US-based readers.

We’re doing a special issue for Women’s Day and will be putting together an ebook too. I invite women entrepreneurs to share their experiences and learnings about becoming successful entrepreneurs. I would welcome a 600-800 word well-written feature which offers advice about any one of various aspects of entrepreneurship. A sample of topics are given below (the numbers are arbit and can be changed; I would welcome any suggestions on other topics):

 – 7 secrets to hire right for for start-ups

 – 8 things to do to attract funding for when you need it

 – 6 networking strategies that women entrepreneurs ignore

 – 10 qualities to look for in a mentor

 – 9 steps to getting the right advisory board for your start-up

All this and anything more that’s pertinent and relevant. My only request: the advice and experiences need to be  relevant for a global audience and not just an Indian one. That’s the challenge. Anyone up for it?

I would also need a couple of photographs and a 200 word bio to include in the author attribution.

We are being included in the International Women’s Day calendar of events and will shortly have a page there. Look forward to getting great features from some of you, many thanks. Also, please would you all bring this to the attention of any women entrepreneurs that you may know – would really appreciate it.

Added on 5th March:

I forgot to add that this ebook will also be promoted to the huge subscriber base of iYogi customers, to whom we offer tech support and who are mostly US-based. The article therefore needs to be for a global/US audience with examples that they would also be able to relate to. I would request all who are interested in contributing to this ebook to go on to wwwireframe.com and have a look at our writing style. We have just migrated to a new design so please pardon any glitches. In fact if you experience any problems, it would be very helpful if you let us know – we will rectify them!! We have also begun a Newsroom and will be offering a “Readers News Tip Off” feature there. So will keep all of you posted as soon as this is activated.

  3. I can tell you one thing right off the bat from a larger strategic point of view, anything women oriented is premium in the US. Reason being women are highly influential and make majority of the house hold purchase decisions. Ads on women sites are generally at least 3X more expensive (CPM) than the general population. From groceries all the way to family travel plans, women are highly influential. Just wanted to provide a perspective from pure ad revenue standpoint. By the way I am a man:)

  4. Thanks raj…. do forward this to nay women online entrepreneurs you know…. would be great to have some perspective on this and if they operate in the US, or market to the US,  – why that would be fabulous!

  5. @kaanchan when do you need it by and whom do I send it to?

  6. Hi Anita,

Good to hear from you. Could you tell me a bit more about yourself – the space that you entrepreneur in and what you would like to write about. Do mail me at  wwwireframe@gmail.com   thanks.

    Ciao

    kaanchan

  7. aha..nice marketing strategy 🙂

  8. Hiya Anita, waiting to hear from you.

  9. Hey thanks Abhi. Though actually seeking to add value to our subscriber base and our readers and also get known for great content… nothing works unless you genuinely want your readers to benefit. So have grave objections to the use of a soulless term such as ‘marketing strategy’ – although I know you don’t mean it in that manner….:)

  10. That would be *Ankita*. Have sent you a mail
