There is no doubt that Facebook is the largest social networking website. And if we compare today’s Facebook experience with the one in 2004, you’ll hardly recognize it. Over the time Facebook has continuously been making changes as per user demand to make them comfortable with the website.
Rumors are that Facebook is currently testing a new sound based alert system that is designed to give an audible ping whenever user receives a message or someone posts something to user’s timeline. We are still not sure about this feature.
As for now, the only way to reply to someone who has commented on a status is to leave your own comment and then tag that person in it by typing their name and selecting the profile from the list. However,this particular system has a flaw in it, due to the fact that you can only tag people who are currently in your friend list. This new feature will allow users to post comments directly to other comments on a status.
Meredith Chin from Facebook has stated that the company “is testing a new way to add comments to a post on Facebook” and that users will be “able to reply to another comment as well as the original post”.
