We are planning to start a website named Strategy2win.com . Will there be any copyright or Legal issues involved as Alok Sirs company is named Games2win.com?
And Apart from this how can I find out if a name I use or a graphic I use has been copyrighted by some one else somewhere else in the world ??
I have heard about people landing up in legal issues , being sued and all , these things sound scary and I want to avoid them from Day 1 .Need some Advise and guidance .

as far as i know, 2win is very much a registered company name. so you should avoid using it (there are other companies apart from games2win like contests2win, media2win and mobile2win was sold….. :))

I would always recommend you use innovative names, the benefits are :
Additionally, if you logo is original concept there is no copyright issue, you get into copyright issue if you are trying to copy someone’s trademark, logo or graphics etc.
Additionally if you can register a company with ROC with name as Strategry2win Pvt. Ltd, then there shouldn’t be any issue with the domain registration either, but if cannot, then simply avoid it.

I went to https://www.mca.gov.in/DCAPortalWeb/dca/QueryNameAction.do and tried searching both 2win & strategry2win but couldn’t find. So i don’t think there is any issue registering it.
