Can we extract real time traffic in numbers through GPS car tracker ?

Hi Techies !

I have a query.

Can we extract real time traffic in approximate numbers through GPS device installed in a taxi while it is on commute?

Either through some API Integration or creating algorithms?

I’m not actually satisfied from the answers I’m getting. Some say it can be done and some clearly says NO.

Let me know what you think and if it is possible!

Hi Gagan,

In my opinion it is perfectly possible & in-fact I suspect that Google maps uses this thing. There is no other reason for Google to know exact traffic situation on Mumbai Goa highway (I traveled recently), without having any specific installation for data collection.

Once I worked on this idea upto basic workflow method. May be we can discuss this in detail.
