Connecting Start-ups to Readily Available Experienced Talent Pool

Hello,

I am Jyotika, Founder of relauncHER- an initiative to bring experienced women professionals back to work.

As startups we know how difficult it is to hire a good dedicated resource. While browsing jobs section of Rodinhoods I got this idea- How about we connect skilled women on career breaks from relauncHER to so many startups looking to hire talent.

We represent a database of women with 3-20 years of experience in various domains across India. My aim is to provide these women professionals on a career break a great opportunity to transition back to the workforce and to help startups in recruiting a great talent with little effort….Thus making a winning proposition for all.

Advantages our candidates have over a normal candidate will be:

-Experienced     -Talented            -Readily Available            -Proven Multitaskers     -Stable

-Hardworking    – and (though I don’t like to mention but…) more Economical

Only requirement my candidates might have is flexibility!

  1. nice!

how different are you from fleximoms jyotika?

  2. Thank you Asha, For startups we might not look very different. Our target clients are big companies and purpose is to do a Returner program(professonal internship) for women on career breaks to re-orient and hire them. But I believe Startups are also a great opportunity to transition back to work and both the startup and candidate can benefit a lot from such an arrangement.

  3. Hey Jyotika, nice angle.  You should really pitch your story on social media.  I will try not to sob and scream at why you don’t have a blog.  🙂

  4. Thanks Abey!

and No…don’t sob, don’t scream we are here relauncHER Blog 🙂

I would love to hear your ideas on social media.

  5. hi jyotika can you connect with me @8976019192. i need to speak on a requirement in my start up

  6. Okay scream decreases to a low moan… but sob remains.  Here’s what I think you could do immediately:

    1. Move the blog to a subdomain (blog.relaunchher.com) or a folder on your main domain /blog. Ideally on self hosted wordpress.  Why? Google SEO equity is going to wordpress.com not your site.

    2. I would say slam on the gas and churn out way more content on the blog.  Women lookin to relaunch has lots of fears and insecurities and require a full spectrum psychobabble innoculation on how they are the greatest thing since sliced bread to corporate India… or something along those lines 🙂

I would say at least one article daily.  Once you get traction in social media you can then invite your audience to be guest authors.

    3. Promote your FB page and get women engaged on the page with different types of content.  A good example is Nirogam’s facebook page, they post topical relevant content that engages their audience – natural health food buffs.  Your audience is women.  So it should be a tad easier to get them to engage with other women in a social setting like FB around such a ‘passion inducing’ topic like gettin back into the work force.  (passion both negative and positive good fodder for the content mill)

    4. Your primary goal with both the blog and the social media dance is to “nudge” the women into submitting their CVs which gives you a skill profile of talent.

    5. Pitch directly to corporate india HR using email marketing autoresponders which is also known as the ‘drip’ campaign where you constantly send content from your site and blog and etc till they finally start contacting you with their requirements.  Keep the content relevant, useful, informative, non-spammy.  You can get the contact details for the HR honchos from sites like fundoodata.  I would strongly recommend resisting the urge to play the salesperson and push into their space but just keep showcasing the talent with your content.  Provide cues in the newsletter which makes it easy for them to contact you.  Online or via phone.  Also maybe a good idea to plug a chat box on an exclusive page where prospective employers can trigger a chat with you or your team.

Once you set up this “virtuous circle” of women signing up and recruiters asking for these talented women, you can then look at branching out into paid ads and maybe even headhunter agencies who actually have trouble finding qualified hamsters who can pull the levers in the middle and upper layers of corporatistan.  :))

Did you read my Internet marketing shit?  That will give you the whole ball of wax you are looking at in terms of marketing to your audience through online channels.

  7. Hi Abey, I am still trying to get to grips with your post(already read 4-5 times). Thank you so much for your thorough insight and suggestions.

  8. Let me try to make it a bit simpler if that helps.  🙂

Marketing is all about attracting an audience.  You have two sets of audiences you need to cater to.  The return to work gals and the HR managers who are looking for talented professionals.  Social media and content helps you attract the RTWG audience while you reach out to potential employers through various channels.  Direct email marketing is one such channel.  I recommended this cuz you are a start up and email having the highest ROI will help keep your relative costs low till you figure out an acceptable acquisition cost per hire.  Once you know your numbers then you can expand your reach through more channels.

  9. Amazing idea !! Women’s would love this..

  10. Good Initiative ..will talk soon.

    Cheers
