About the Company
PerKarat.com is a B2C Online Jewellery e-commerce business. We have started this business with an aspiration to revolutionize the Gold & Diamond Jewellery space by solving the ‘real’ challenges of a Jewellery lover. We come with unique set of differentiating factors which we believe will leave an impact on the way jewellery business is being done in India.
About the Role
We are looking for 3 Content Writers who can join us as Interns. (And just to make it clear, these intern positions are paid) These Interns are expected to spend some time understanding the organization and the Online Jewellery Business needs. Once the candidates demonstrate their understanding of the business needs and the desired deliverables, the candidates will be moved on to full-time roles. Ideally this transition will take a span of 3-6 months.
At PerKarat.com, a Content Writer is expected to come up with original articles after researching the subject and then articulating his/her thoughts for the target audience. There are a few iterations before we accept the final version which goes out in the public.
It is important for you to note that, PerKarat.com is aiming at several platforms & Social Media channels to reach out to the target audience and hence, in most likely case, you will be expected to come up with content for several things in parallel. In essence, you are expected to Multitask.
At some point of time, after you prove your suitability, you will be expected to take complete ownership of a channel or an asset type, say, you could be driving the entire Facebook page content for the Organization, or you could be the one who will be deciding what goes into the PerKarat Blog.
About the Candidate:
- E-Commerce usually offers a challenging day with an unscripted role for the day – you keep picking up things which come your way and still save some time for things which were planned last evening. If you can imagine yourself delivering in such a demanding role, you are most welcome.
- It goes without saying – Your writing skills need to be spotless, and it would be great if you are a Grammar Nazi.
- You should have a flair for writing articles which initiates actions from the readers. You are writing for an audience who is expected to buy from us.
- Should have written before for online readers (even if it was your Blog) on a regular basis. Or have been a freelance or an active contributor to some of the existing digital media publications.
- Any prior experience with writing for E-Commerce businesses, or Fashion & Jewellery would be considered as an asset.
- Candidates must be from Mumbai location. We are currently operating from Opera House Area.
Candidate’s Qualifications
- UG or PG, any Specialization
- E Commerce awareness
- Basic understanding of Writing Tools & Platforms
- Any degree or exposure in Gems & Jewellery domain would be an advantage

a small tip – for writers – you might want to give a small assignment to assess them so you’re not going through lots of cvs unnecessarily. feel free and edit your post and ask the candidates to write 800 words on something relevant to the kind of content they will be creating in the near future.
