We are a startup based out of Dubai and right now developing a web app for consumers in UAE. One of our requirement is to send individual SMS to people based on various triggers. We tried to find out available options in the market which we can integrate and the best (or the cheapest) available thing starts from $.02 per SMS which looks pretty steep to me (however, that might be the going rate).
It would be great if someone from the group has done this before and knows a good option which is cheaper than what I have stated above. Below are the points of consideration
– Our web portal is on LAMP stack
– We are building iPhone and an Android app which is also suppose to do the same
– As of now, we assume that we will be sending some 8-10 thousand SMS a day to different individuals (and not bulk SMS)
– Will send SMS to people in UAE
