I am running a matrimony portal by the name of www.maangal.com. Things were going fine and business was good until we decided to upgrade our software and systems.thats when all hell broke loose.
My developer after “working” on the software for almost 15 months told me that he was finally ready to transfer the old website data into the new one he had made.
The transition which was supposed to last 48 hrs and has now taken more than 23 days . We have bugs cropping up from all over and am dead tired of his progress in taking things froward.
We haven’t received a single payment since last 25 days because fo the these bugs and errors and the data transition problems.On one hand , i have angry customers to deal with and on the other end i have to use my patience (its running very thin , trust me) to keep explaining the problems/errors/bugs to my developer and literally beg him to complete what he had promised to do in just 48 hrs but has taken close to a month.
I am, here at Rodinhood, begging a kick ass developer to help me sort out my problems !!!!!!
The reason am here is because i believe that i can get a genuine, honest, really skilled person from Rodinhood only.

I empathize with your situation. Unfortunately as am not based in NCR, i wont be of any help here.
A similar case had happened to one of my client (not because of me, of course), and he had asked himself the following questions before going ahead.
1. Considering the numerous bugs, is the new website worth continuing
2. Can your old website sustain you in the old fashion till you decide on the new one
3. What are the cost implications of continuing with the new one and the cost implications of reverting to the old
4. Are you ready to bear the additional cost of the new technical resource, which might come at a premium ( considering that developers avoid this kind of botched projects ). Also, how do you ensure that the resource you are about to hire will deliver ?
In short, this might be a good time to take a business decision, before finding a technical resource.
Once you decide on the above, there are ways to ensure that the website is meeting your expectation before it is launched. I might be able to remotely guide you through it (for free) during this stage.

Currently am a troubled soul 🙂 but had faith in Alok’s Karma 🙂 what he has created has always given me hope of the good still present and the positivity of Rodinhooders.
1. maangal.com is the fruit of 5 years of hard work with immense goodwill .
2. the bugs arent very daunting , the problem is that my developer is not competent enough and i think he needs handholding but is too proud to ask!!
3. Yes, my old website was good and great enough. We merely were going for better user experience on the advice of the very same developer.

We can discuss the nature of the bugs and try to find a realistic timeframe in which the problems can be resolved by a developer.
After a short analysis I found that the site is developed in Core PHP (without any framework). The javascript is coded without any libraries. In short, i doubt the quality and scalability of the entire work. Please pardon me for being too direct or if any of my observations are incorrect.
