Hi Guys!
I have been trying to gather how does one post events on websites like buzzintown.com, burp.com etc. There is no link to create content / event. Found an email id on delhievents.com where one can send the event details and they will post it for you.
Few of my questions are:
1. Do all these website require content to be sent to them and they post it for you?
2. Do these website charge for such posts? what are the charges (approximately)? Are they feasible / economical for start-ups?
3. Do you have to be a registered identity to post an event?
4. How long do they take to post the content? OR how long before the event is it a good idea to send the details to them?
5. Which websites do you guys recommend / use often?
This might sound dumb but i have no idea and couldnt find any post / help online. Have written to few of these websites. Await reply.
Thanks for all the valuable inputs and ideas provided on this amazing network.
Seek your help.
Cheers!

Well there are several other sites where you don have to send the information to the site owner.
For Example http://www.linksme.co.in/index.php/sme-knowledge-hub-2/events/year....- .
Here all you need to do is just Register as a member and you can easily, Add/Modify/Delete events. Whats more..you can use around 350++ social media places where you can easily share them and reach out to a larger audience.
to know more see www.linksme.co.in under the SME Knowledge Hub Section we have a events section dedicated to events. All you need to do is Register and create your company profile as a service provider/seller. Once approved you can log in and under the menu tab you will see "Create Event" its as simple as this.
thanks Bhavesh. Will sure give it a try. Would be helpful if you could answer other questions as well.
Thanks a ton!
Chers!

Thanks for the prompt response and I am glad that you found it useful. Kindly find below the answers to your questions.
1. Do all these website require content to be sent to them and they post it for you?
A: On LINKSME, you dont need to send content, you can upload it on your own so is true with places like a event section on Linkedin. Though you do need to be a registered member.
2. Do these website charge for such posts? what are the charges (approximately)? Are they feasible / economical for start-ups?
A. Most of them dont charge, unless you are using their other services such as payment gateway of want them to do a dedicated BD activity like EDMs and sponsorship/delegate acquisition. At LINKSME we also can provide additional value by being your Media Partners, which enables you to reach out to our community members as well. We also promote the events from our end on the Social media platforms. Visit www.facebook.com/LINKSME for more details.
3. Do you have to be a registered identity to post an event?
A. Yes. You have to be a registered identity to post events. Its very simple like creating your profile on Facebook/Twitter/LINKSME etc.
4. How long do they take to post the content? OR how long before the event is it a good idea to send the details to them?
A. On LINKSME it goes live the moment you click on post. On other sites if you post the content it might take about 1-3 days depending on the quickness of the response. Ideally its always good to launch the event 2-3 months before the actual event on on our site LINKSME. This enables you to use the platform and reach out to maximum people virally as well.
5. Which websites do you guys recommend / use often?
A. some sites like Linkedin/Facebook/ Google+/LINKSME are highly recommended as these have high reach and connected well with decision makers.
Note: Have tried to give my best shot in answering them as I have spent almost 14 years in event management and hope my experience may be of some help :P)
wow Bhavesh! This helps!! Thanks a ton!!

Permalink Reply by Arun Kumar Waghchoure on January 4, 2013 at 2:49pm For most of the listing site if it is without ticketing solution you can list it for free after login, without you login nobody will trust you. And question might arise since host is not login in it might not be genuine.
I suggest make a list of all sites and categories such as class A,B,C don't rely only 1 event listing. Also check from SEO or Google point of view which sites are popular for example olx, quikr & justdial will get you lots of views.
You can see if site with ticketing solution fits for your event. Finally don't forget FB and Print Media.
:) thanks for your genuine advise! any idea in particular about buzzintown???
