How to get discounts on domain renewals?

I have multiple domains registered for my personal use as well as for some of my clients for whom I design websites. The domains are registered on multiple registrars like Godaddy and Bigrock.

I have charged a fixed amount from my clients for domain renewals which is unfortunately less than the current market price. I charge very less for making the websites ( around 3-4k) so even small difference in domain price makes a difference in my margins. I just wanted to know if there is any way to get discounts on domain renewals.

Any suggestions and help would be appreciated.

Hi Shravan. I am also running a Website Designing and Digital Marketing firm from last 8 years. In this profession it is better to have a reseller account from a reputed domain registrar. I have a reseller account from Reseller Club. As my turnover increases, my price for domain purchase automatically decreases. Today, my turnover for my domain reseller account is around 2 Lakh + and I am getting .com domain for Rs. 550/- of which market rate is Rs. 700/- . So, try to get a reseller account from Reseller Club. You can start by just depositing Rs. 1500/- and that 1500/- will be credited on your wallet which you can use to buy domains as well as hosting for personal use or for your clients. The more transactions you do the more discounts you will get. Just focus on transaction and later you will definitely enjoy profits.

Thanks for your reply Ankit. Actually I was thinking of going forward with a reseller account but the issue is that their .com domain pricing is above 500 whereas some domain registrars allow me to register new domains for as less as 120/-. Also I would like to know which host is good to buy reseller hosting at a cheap price and then resell it to my clients in small packages. Would appreciate if you reply.

Shravan, I have over 600 domains registered through various registrars and would have to say for .com – Godaddy works pretty well. They typically have some sort of coupon codes that can be easily found by searching ‘Godaddy coupon codes’. I have registered domains as low as $.99c for the first year. Sometimes GoDaddy will also have coupon codes for renewals which brings the cost to ~ $9. Having multiple domains also helps as they seem to provide a better rate – size matters 🙂

I have 95% of my .in domains registered through Mitsu.in – renewals @ 425RS. and first year @ 85RS. They are a good company – easily reachable and protective of your domains.

For new GTLD’s – the best search site is uniregistry – however would still register my domain at GD simply due to the fact of the number of coupons available online for it.

Hi Sharvan, As I already said the more transaction you do the more discount you will get on domain purchase.For me, I am using Reseller Club for domain as well as hosting. Their support system is good as well as fast. I also suggest you to check reviews on different domains and hosting companies before you choose one to go with.
