List of the Best Do-It-Yourself Ecommerce Site Builder Platforms in India

Many small business owners and entrepreneurs are looking forward to start selling their products online. Many of them get lost in the crowd of hundreds of sellers at online marketplaces and some of them are not even able to get on board as sellers at these marketplaces.

One of the best ways to sell your own products online is starting your own ecommerce site. You can start your own eCommerce store, add as many products as you want, decide the prices and do much more. You are completely free to do the things the way you like. Also you don’t have to pay any fees to online marketplaces and this plays an important role in increasing your profits.

There are various ways of starting your own eCommerce store. You can hire a freelancer and develop your own site, you can get in touch with a web developer and engage him etc. etc. But one of the best ways recommended for starters is going for Do-It-Yourself Ecommerce Site Builder Platforms.

These platforms allow you to start your own online shopping site in minutes. You can design and launch your own site all by yourself without any technical skills with the help of ready made templates. One of the most important benefit of these platforms is that they are extremely cost-effective and the monthly charges start from a few hundred to thousand rupees every month. that includes everything like hosting, design etc. Many of these platforms help you with tie-ups with logistic partners (for delivery of products) and also with payment gateways (to process online payments).

I am listing a some of the Top Do-It-Yourself Ecommerce Site Builder Platforms in India. (They are not listed in any particular order)

  14. Hi Shravan. This is great info.

But, I am looking for something which is a bit different from this. I don’t want to setup an e-commerce shop, but a market place for vendors to register and sell on my website (actually I am only at a planning stage). So, before taking a plunge in to this, I want to be explore the tools that are already available in the market.

To help you understand my requirement better: If I needed to create my own e-commerce shop, I would have used Joomla or AbanteCart or Magento (note I am not looking out for ‘other’ services who can help me setup). I am more looking for self-hosted applications.

So, would you know any such CMS Software which I can host on my website to create a marketplace? I am open to knowing about both, paid and free ones.

@Asha: Thanks for connecting me to this page.

    Cheers!

    Mohit

  15. Hi Mohit,

I am not aware of any such platforms. Also my technical knowledge in that manner is limited. I feel I am not the right person to guide you in such matters. But nonetheless, there are many TRHS members who would be able to help you out in that area. I would suggest you to post a question in ‘Ask’ section. You will definitely get responses from experienced members there.

    Regards,

    Shravan

  16. Mohit, if you have 4 lac to buy a car. Do you go to market and buy a car. Remember the technology, design etc is patented to company which had build it or you would invest your time and money to build everything from ground Zero.

Think about it. The day you 300 cr or get a funding for 300 cr, you don’t need to think about the market place software etc. Since anyways your current application wouldn’t support it.

Additionally, joomla or magento etc cannot support multi server architecture, which you might require when sales and traffic grows.
