Mentoring and Support for Early Stage / Ideation Phase Start Up

Dear Friends,

We are group of professionals who have keen interest in building entrepreneurial ecosystem, as at some point in our life we all have been part of start ups.

Now we are looking to invest small seed capital in the ideation phase or early start ups (especially in the product or marketing ones). We will also try to provide you the networking support and guidance.

Just sharing my background- till now I have founded three start ups- first one was acquired within first 4 months of its existence, second one was closed due to compliance issue but before that we were able to have our slice of bread. The third one was a big failure in terms of monetary benefits but gave us a lot of learning.

Apart from a startup guy, I have been a seasoned marketing professional having worked with various organizations and is presently looking after marketing in a national role for a finance major.

My two friends who also enjoy the thrills of a start up are with me in this journey. They are working with some of the big names of the corporate world and have plenty of time to mentor and ideate things  🙂

We are starting this small seed fund with our own savings and some investments from our friends.. this will not be a very big kind of thing… we don’t know the in and out of this but just believe to pump collective energy to make something successful.

Yes I still remember when I started my first company ( when i was in college) i looked for small money to event print the things ( by the way this company sold discount coupons in the form of paper booklets B2B and B2C) and so I understand that how much the small funds are needed at an early stage.

We wish to be a part of your entrepreneurial journey with whatever limited resources we have, in case you feel like than drop me a mail at startupjourney2014@gmail.com to take this further.

  1. wow ravdeep!!

this is so awesome! thank you for offering to support some rodinhooder startups!!

this part gave me goosebumps – “Yes I still remember when I started my first company ( when i was in college) i looked for small money to event print the things ( by the way this company sold discount coupons in the form of paper booklets B2B and B2C) and so I understand that how much the small funds are needed at an early stage.”

reminder – everyone starts small. every great thing starts small….

  2. ps: does your interest slant towards any particular industry?

  3. We are not industry specific.. the one thing that we will be looking is the passion for execution.. There are hundreds of great ideas but the only differentiating factor is the execution of that idea.. So we are interested in passionate and competent team who can turn their dreams into reality..

  4. This is an amazing thing Ravdeep,

Those Small Funds are the oxygen for every startup in the very early stages. & It usually is seen that people around ridicule the entrepreneurs who drop their ideas/startup due to lack of this early support. As Asha said, every thing starts Small, small help is what will lead to a bigger and better future of such startups.

    Best of Luck buddy.

  5. hi ravdeep, i’ll be inboxing you today!!!…….

  6. I’m sorry, but what are your credentials? Which Company did you sell? How do we know you are REAL?!

  7. Hi Alok, believe me when i wrote this post I was expecting this question to come and the only name which i was figuring out was yours.. because i know the person who has created this community wants everything to be REAL..

In my post we are not asking for any favor from some one by giving false credentials or manipulative descriptions. We have just offered to lend a helping hand by offering small investment for the ideation phase guys ( by the way these are all our savings from our hard earned money and we are NOT an “investors”- the typical ones). It is up to the guys whether they want to hold this hand or not. We are offering small helps in our own way to make this ecosystem better.

I have already written in my post that I am working with a financial company hence bound by legal agreements. But just for reference you have an keen-eyed editor “Asha” who have already verified the questions raised by you before posting this into forum.

I still remember the college time when we get hundreds of ideas and were confident that we can take it to the next level. But we dont have the money to even chase that.  Some of you might think that we would have gone to the investors- but you know that the investors story are of Chicken and egg- first you create than we will invest. So our learning made us understand that we have to come out of this “chicken and egg phase” and turn this to “hatch the egg first”. So we are trying to work on this..

I know it is really difficult to trust someone whom you dont know but believe me our intentions are pretty clear and doesnt have any vested interest. If it was the case we would not have written that these investments are from our savings and are small.

I am of the believe that we should all be a part of this “hatch the egg first” concept.

    Thanks

    Ravdeep

  9. Hi Ravdeep,

So nice to find your reply, specifically the chicken-and-egg paradox!

Coincidentally I had dropped you a mail yesterday mentioning the same paradox. Haven’t heard back though. Awaiting a response.

    Keep up the good work.

    Prashant
