Need your expert advice: My Startup- FUCCHA.in

Hi Rodinhodders, I am following this website from last few months and needless to say, I have learnt a lot from here. The discussions, mentor tips and advices, everything is just amazing and helpful. 

I have a start-up called fuccha.in. Now, let me explain what is FUCCHA  ,why I started FUCCHA etc

What is FUCCHA?

We are India’s first ever one stop junction for  the Youth. This is a platform which will lead to a new era of camaraderie among the students from Delhi University, GGSIPU etc  and corporate world. In few words, we bring entire “Delhi Youth” together to a single online community.

 

Our presence:

We have presence in 20+ DU and 32+ IP colleges with a registered user base of 60,000+ (online and offline activities) in 2 years. Facebook Fans: 22,000+ with engagement rate of 20% .

 

Why we started FUCCHA? 

We had identified 2 problems

1)For College students

2) For Corporate world

 

For College Student: Especially for fresher’s, problem starts from filling up the form, then to choose the best college/course, once they get admission, they don’t know where to stay, what to eat, where to hang out, where to find notes, which tuition / coaching centre is good, how to earn pocket money and the list is endless.

For Corporate: It’s not easy to identify your Target Group and even if you identify your TG, how to approach and reach to (elite target audience) them for different marketing objectives.

For College students, we aim:

¢To suggest them PGs/Hostels, Coaching Centres, Best colleges, Best Restros, Cheap photocopy corners etc

¢To bring on board the opportunities in industry for summer internships, part-time jobs and weekend projects.

¢To provide the timely information about all the competitions, conferences, Debates and events to be held across Colleges in Delhi.

¢To provide them a platform to interact with other College students and discuss the career opportunities in various specializations.

 

In a nut shell, to provide one stop solution for all their problems, just a click away

For Corporate World: 

-To provide integrated marketing solution to target Youth (Through Online + Offline activities)

-Corporate tie ups to provide human resource

-To increase footfalls, sales and branding

 

So far, we are getting very good response, got 3 clients as well as 80% of the content is generated by users from top notch colleges in Delhi like SRCC, IIT, LSR, Jamia etc.

 

I need your expert advice, feedback and suggestion as how to take things further and scale it up.

1) Should we move out of Delhi now?

2) Should we focus on schools?

3) Your honest feedback about this idea

  1. 1) What %-age of students from the 20+ DU & 32+ IP colleges do you have on your site ?   What %-age are returning visitors?

    3) I dont see the items you mention “For College Student: Especially for fresher’s, problem starts from filling up the form, then to choose the best college/course,” etc etc on the website.  Is that planned, or upcoming ?

    Thanks for asking these questions, I shall take them one by one

    1) When have students from almost all DU and IPU colleges. When I say 20+ DU and 32+ IPU colleges, it means, we have offline reach in these colleges, we do offline activities in these colleges. (seminars, events, postering, sponsorship etc) 

    2) 65% returning visitors

    3) Yes, We help them during admission time in north & south campus, because there you can help them in real time. Online, we haven’t started catering this problem but from next season, we shall start this with our dedicated helpline no. 

  3. Stay in Delhi, focus on the colleges you are already focussing on! You are no where close to maximizing the potential in Delhi alone – think in terms of how you can increase the engagement and monetization both. Trying to build this at more cities will infinitely distract you.
