StrollUp – Plan your local outings in 2 taps

Hi all,

I am Abhishek Goel, Cofounder at StrollUp. I graduated from IIT-Delhi and worked for couple of years before starting my entrepreneurial journey. At StrollUp, We help people plan their local outings. We are live in Delhi & Bangalore. Here is the link to our Android App.

Problem: Urban people spend around 1 hr in creating each outing. With the help of our decision making algorithm, we help them create outings in 5 mins.
eg. You need to go out for 4-5 hrs in Gurgaon. An output plan from the app could be like: Lunch @ Farzi Cafe & Virtual Gaming at Smaaash.

Our app has all type of places in the city, which helps us in finding best plans for you based on your interest, what time you are going, where, and with whom you are going. Categories that we cover:

  • Fun (Bowling, Ice Skating, GoKarting etc)
  • Sightseeing
  • Food, Drinks, Desserts
  • Movies
  • Events (Ladies Night, Concerts, DJ Parties, Karaoke, Plays)

To give you some idea of what a plan looks like. See this.

You can connect with us at Facebook & Twitter here. My personal twitter handle is @abhishekgoel22. You can also write to us at connect@strollup.in

Current channels we use for user acquisition: SEO of our WebsiteBlog, ASO, and Email Marketing. We target people in age group 18-35 in Delhi & Bangalore. More specifically, first targeting unmarried service class people in 20s.

Would love to have your feedback on our app. We are currently bootstrapping and developing channels of sustainable organic downloads. Would be glad to hear some growth hacking ideas that don’t cost a lot of money.

Thanks if you read till here. I hope you would give our app a try before providing your feedback. Download Android App Now

  1. hi abhishek,

    very interesting idea.

    https://www.therodinhoods.com/forum/topics/ask-rahul-all-about-apps-mobile-product-marketing-strategy-1

and pls go through alok’s seven deadly sins!

    https://www.therodinhoods.com/forum/topics/the-seven-deadly-sins-for-mobile-app-downloads

keep using the search feature – other rodinhooders keep sharing useful hacks

    (screeny, confrmticket, etc)

    all the best!!

  2. Thanks Asha 🙂

Would connect with Rahul Varshneya right away and read through Alok’s ppt soon.
46M organic downloads for Games2Win. Very Impressive 🙂

  3. abhishek,

have you showed this to any of the travel ventures? we have quite a few rodinhooders in the travel space as well.

will share this link with them!

  4. No we haven’t.
We are currently targeting localites in Delhi & Bangalore, where as travel ventures usually target tourists.
But would love to connect with them too! They would surely have valuable insights.

  5. I just don’t get it..

Isn’t this a really personal problem you are trying to solve?

Metric to check will be the repeat usage of this app… That will be an interesting metric

(Challenge being that its not everytime that people don’t know what to do)

Have you tried pitching this to TIME OUT (magazine)? It seems the perfect solution for them?

  6. abhijeet – i like alok’s idea. come to think of it, i love livemint’s time out weekly planner

    chk – https://www.livemint.com/Leisure/36KZpl4D7XPJzOPVotah8L/The-TimeOut-Mint-Planner.html

  7. Thanks for your reply Alok & Asha. This is not just a personal problem we are trying to solve.

StrollUp is a weekly usable product. Our WAU/MAU is around 50%.
58% of the people who used the app first time are coming back to use it on some other day.
I agree that people won’t use our product everytime they go out, but urban people face this atleast twice a month.

I haven’t checked out TimeOut in detail, would read more and get back to you.
