Tata Social Enterprise Challenge

We are happy to announce the launch of the fourth edition of the Tata Social Enterprise Challenge.

TSEC is a joint initiative between the Tata Group and IIM Calcutta to find budding social entrepreneurs. TSEC invites proposals from ventures in the fields of education, health, technology, energy, agriculture, sanitation, and handicrafts, among others.

Some of our VC partners include Acumen, Ankur Capital, Ennovent, Yunnus and Villgro

TSEC has three stages:

  1. Impact Proposal Round – In this round, teams will need to submit an ‘Impact Proposal’ through our website. Impact proposal is a detailed business plan format that we have developed to capture the needs and the impact created by any social venture. The form for submitting the impact proposal can be downloaded through our website.
  2. Semi-Finals – After the Impact Proposal Round, forty teams will be selected. They will be mentored by established social entrepreneurs and faculty from IIM Calcutta over a one month period to help strengthen their business plan and pitch. They will then be invited on capus to pitch their plan before a panel of judges.
  3. The Grand Finale – Twenty teams will be selected for the Grand Finale and will pitch to a panel of esteemed judges, consisting of TATA Business Leaders, CEOs/Founders of Social VCs, Social Entrepreneurs and faculty from IIM Calcutta.
