Teamgum – Share the web with your team

Hello Everyone,

My 1st post on this big forum & have something cool to share. So here I go. (just a bit about me: I along with my co-founder, we run an enterprise mobility startup – Deltecs since 2007 & we are a product company in productivity & learning space).

I learn a lot from reading fabulous articles & stuff online & many a times share it with my team. I remember an article from rodinhood that was shared in my team (almost 4 years back) & discussions happening over it on emails internally. (trust me it was a pain to find this mail chain)

Infact there have been countless such other awesome links shared in our team which could be equally path changing & full of learning. Am sure every one here would agree that especially in startup world, learning from other entrepreneurs and experts is definitely a big need as special abilities rarely exist & people wear multiple hats like legal/investment banker & so on apart from being a techie developer.

Some of the pain areas we felt while sharing links in this manner – many of the links shared were never opened and they got lost somewhere in the mailbox, discussions & chats on topics were difficult to trace back, revisiting those links at the time of need have never been easy, caching of the pages and make them searchable.

And then we decided to solve this problem. We built teamgum to share anything amazing you find on web with your team. But more importantly see everything your team is sharing without leaving your

web page.

And when you search on google, teamgum gets you most likely matching results from its repository in addition to google results which makes the revisiting of the links shared easier.

It would be amazing if you can try teamgum. I would love to have your views & comments on teamgum on below parameters (which is an extension on all major browsers except for IE and also has an app on android, IOS & blackberry)

  1. onboarding experience
  2. overall user experience/simplicity/usability
  3. website messaging
  4. Pricing (current offering – free for 5 users & 5 USD/month/user)
  5. What more would you like to see in teamgum

Cheers,

Jinen Dedhia,

Co-founder Deltecs

  1. Hi!

I’ve added the extension to Chrome on my Laptop and Registered for the service.

I think I will find this application very useful.

Shall let you know how it goes.

    with warm regards from,

    Anshuman Nadkarni

  2. Thanks Ashuman 🙂

    We look forward.

  3. @ Jinen: Seems like a potentially useful extension, have added to my browser will get it added to my team’s browser too.  Will share the feedback with you later on.

  4. Thanks Ranjeet 🙂

I await to hear your feedback .

  5. Hi Anshuman, this is a bit weird. It shouldnt appear this way. Already have got my team to work on it. Will update you once resolved.

  6. interesting add on Jinen.

  7. Interesting! Will try.

  8. I definitely find it a very useful tool. Sharing interesting links across team and maintaining a repository of these helps a lot to the entire team to increase their knowledge with only relevant links shared by team members and also comes in handy at a later point when you want to go back for reference.

I have searched a lot for this service and use piethis.com currently, but they have changed a lot and changed links to chat and I am overall not very happy with its performance and shabby experience. Will definitely give it a try to teamgum.

But we are a team of 6 and I am not sure, I would want to pay $30 a month for my team to share links. Its not a mission critical app and maximum I would pay is $10 for 5-10 users. Even powerful Project Collaboration apps like asana and todoist charge lesser than this and there is always a freemium version available for a team of around 15 members in case of asana, so you should probably consider easing that constraint specially in initial days 🙂

    All the Best!!

  9. cool stuff!

  10. Hi Robin,

thanks for the detailed feedback on the offering & your advise on pricing. We will surely look into evolving our pricing. If in the mean time you can invite your team of 6 people at 0 dollars till the time you feel its worth while & give your feedback on the usage & overall experience then that will be great.

    Looking forward.

    regards,

    Jinen

  11. Thanks Alok. await your critical comments.

    regards,

    Jinen

  12. Hi Jinen,

Have just started using it and looks pretty cool and very handy with the
    chrome extension.

Couldn’t figure out how to add 6th user as you mentioned. Can you explain
me the process on a email on robin@codeparallel.co. Will use it actively
for few days and get back to you with the feedback.

  13. Sure Robin. Right away.

    regards,

    Jinen

  14. Hi Jinen, I dont know but somehow I missed this post at all 🙁 its a wonderful idea and you have touched a very important pain area about social learning. I am installing the plugin for my Safari browser and I shall surely let you know my feedback. I work in the Education Field and I see a lot of potential for your Teamgum in the Education eco system as a collaboration platform amongst students as well as faculty members. Lets discuss this more when we connect.

Once again excellent idea and its important that you travelled from the point of idea to implementation 🙂

  15. hey jinen,
