Thank you Alok & the Rodinhoods

Hello everyone,

There is great news I want to share with all of you. Our startup – NityaaLabs has been selected for the 2nd batch of GSF accelerator. We are among the 3 startups participating in the Mumbai chapter, selected from over 90 other startups. We would like to thank the entire Rodinhood community for all your love & support and a special thanks to the chief Rodinhood – Alok.

Knowingly-unknowingly Alok had a big role to play. This is how it started, it was March and we saw some traction for our product – Airstream. We developed a business model around it and started applying for different accelerators. In the process we also mailed a copy to Alok hoping for some feedback.

Things went as usual thereafter – building, tweaking, improving, etc and of course no replies from anyone. But then after 1 month, I received a call from Alok. First I couldn’t believe it, I kept wondering if this is even real and why would Alok even call instead of replying via mail. Its then I understood the greatness & humility of Alok, he started with an apology for the delay in replying (you dont expect any CEO, VC or any advisor to call after one month, let alone apologise for the delay :)).

It turned out he had studied our pitch deck in detail. We discussed Airstream for the next 15 min and the call concluded with Alok introducing me to 3 connections. They were there best connections we were introduced to so far, we received lot of insights about many things and by incorporating their feedback our product and pitch both improved. We had lot of answers than before, and we knew exactly where we want to go. So when call from GSF call came, we were prepared in many ways.

Thanks again Alok, you are a real boon to the Indian Startup ecosystem. And also to mention, thank you Asha for encouraging me to write and helping me with the posts. We are looking towards an exciting journey ahead and hope everyone would keep supporting us the way you have done before!

P.S. – is dot io a new domain, seeing a lot of these nowadays specially for mobile apps.

Yes the “.io” is a new trend these days and sort of cool. Since it is relatively new, any required domain name will be readily available.
