I cant believe what a moron I have been all my entrepreneurial life.
Chasing Internet businesses - Contesting, Media, Mobile, Gaming and god knows what not...all in the hope of creating a Billion Dollar Company
When...
A 10 BILLION+++ idea has been staring at me all this while!
ITS TO BECOME ALOK BABA!
Now, consider what I have GOING for me:
- I have bushy hair with some nice white hair sprouts here and there. My beard also grows fast and is very salt and pepper
- I have a NICE POT BELLY - and hairy legs - so the image for media andstage is nice
- I speak fluent Hindi
- I know at least 13 Yogic Asana's very very well - can act and demo
- I am known to be a motivator and inspirational speaker
- I write prolifically
- I THRIVE at public speaking - In fact my ALL TIME AMBITION is to speak in a packed Football Stadium!
- RELIGION and SPIRITUALITY is the biggest India passion - While Internet audience is 40-100 million in a land of 1+ BILLION PEOPLE - Religion is 1+ BILLION in a 1+ BILLION COUNTRY!!!
So here is the MODEL
- Create India's first Online; Mobile; Offline; Brick and Click Mortar SPIRITUAL Interactive media PLATFORM
I have some crazy ideas about life, why things happen and what you can do to better yourself - all these will be presented ONLINE and VIA iOs and Android APPS
Then, FOR marketing, there will be youtube, free TV interviews, rallies, public marches etc etc
NOW THE MONEY doesn't come from all this - it comes CREATING A MEDIA Social Network Site of FOLLOWERS - As I have said - where there are PEOPLE, there is LOTS OF MONEY
Also, parts of the business becomes 'BABAVILLE' - licensed to Zynga and Digital Chocolate for Virtual Goods (Flowers, mantras, Blessings etc etc from me)
Also, real events - entry passes etc
LOTS OF VC's like Politicians, Black Operators etc are always interested in such models
CO-FOUNDERS like BABA RAMDEV??!!
Oh my god... my head is spinning...
And then - since this is a FIRST OF ITS KIND - India centric - Web meets Internet meets INDIAN PASSION (religion) - this LISTS ON NASDAQ - for 10+ billion (Goldman Sachs will do the 'needful')

As I've mentioned earlier - religion is a big business (even in Sri Lanka). Perhaps even the biggest business of all.
After all, you have :
1. A large, recurring customer base with an excellent growth rate (and a close to 100% retention rate)
2. Customers willing to throw their money at your brand.
3. Minimal or no regulation.
4. Excellent ROI - perhaps better than any other sector !

You could infact form a virtual BABA city online and ask for real money to built temples, ashrams holy lakes much to the tune of second life and call it - Holy Life :-)

Lovely sarcasm. The humor is mind-tickling. It is sad and perhaps very dangerous that 'crass materialism' has entered even spirituality. Because, I believe spirituality is the foundation of existence - i.e. we are all spiritual beings having a earthly experience and not the other way around - i.e. earthly beings trying to have a spiritual experience .
Let me now don the 'serious' hat.
Since wer're talking about mind-sets, it is worthwhile pondering over :
- ......whether this skeptical mindset ITSELF has become a growing mass psyche, so as to term EVERY system a quack system or a money-spinning racket?
- .......has this mindset actually made us insensitive or incapacitated in identifying the REAL thing?
- ....... how does a sincere seeker (consumer) seek for the REAL thing?
Far from giving answers, it is important to ponder deeply over these. I am sure we can find our own answers.
