Check out this mail that I got from non other that Reid Hoffman - the founder of Linkedin.com just around time they hit their 100th millionth member.
I am sure lots of the readers of this post (early members of Linkedin) also got the same mail.
Now, think of it - why would Reid bother with old foggies like us, when he has 100 MILLION more users? Why bother about going out of your way and adding this personal touch of mentioning the unique linkedin membership number ( i never knew it till today) to each email recipient and being so nice in thanking us?
Well, it's 'consumer consciousness', a great viral move and simply a way of touching people hearts!!
Love live Linkedin and Reid!!

Took me a while to "get it".
Now, I must wait to get a letter from Reid Hoffman when Linkedin becomes 500M strong.
