The New Qlicket.com

Hi, I wanted to let you know that we have just launched the new Qlicket.comOur capabilities go much beyond WiFi advertising and cover all things related to out-of-home wireless Internet deployments. Please let me know your thoughts after watching some of the videos and reading through some of the content. Let us together bring India online.

Qlicket exists because it has been, and still is, taking too long to bring more people online in the world’s largest democracy.

WHAT WE DO

We are a wireless service provider that handles every aspect of enterprise WiFi deployments. We have two business models, Enterprise Solutions and Advertising Technology, both of which can be utilized simultaneously.

Enterprise Solutions encompasses networking, TRAI compliance, and a cloud-based portal for administrators to manage the entire WiFi experience. This model has monthly and annual licenses that scale with operators, and typical customers include venues and ISPs.

Advertising Technology focuses exclusively on monetizing WiFi hotspots for venues and ISPs. This model works on a revenue share basis, and customers often include large brand advertisers and agencies.

FREE PUBLIC WIFI

Only 1 in 5 Indians has access to the Internet, and for most users, that often means a mobile 2G connection on a limited data plan. Qlicket believes that free public WiFi is the easiest and most affordable way for people to experience broadband Internet. Today, there are fewer than 10,000 public WiFi hotspots in India, and it’s unclear how many of them are free and fully operational.

ADS FOR ACCESS

We believe in providing free Internet access, and we don’t believe in charging end users. However, we need a method to recoup costs associated with delivering a higher quality Internet experience. Nonintrusive, ad-supported WiFi seems to make the most sense for our stakeholders, including users, venues & ISPs, and advertisers. Click on the screenshot to see a video of how it works:you give us 30 seconds of your time upfront, and we’ll give you 30 minutes of free WiFi at your favorite out of home locations.

FREE WIFI BY QLICKET

A solid WiFi experience doesn’t end with an engaging advertising experience. It’s unfortunate that the sign in and browsing experience at many public WiFi hotspots in India often leads to moments of frustration. As a result, we’ve not only focused on making WiFi hotspots in India free, but also on making it easier to access them and enjoy free Internet. During the sign in process, you should notice five things in particular about Qlicket WiFi:

  1. Fast loading login page with two easy steps for free WiFi
  2. All qlicket.com sign in URLs are only accessed over SSL (encrypted link)
  3. Clear mentioning of ad-supported WiFi and promo presented in an engaging way
  4. Your connection speed may be identified to automatically render appropriate video quality
  5. Your requested webpage loads behind the scenes to prove to you that the Internet works.

ENTERPRISE SOLUTIONS

Qlicket is a one stop shop for all your Internet and WiFi related needs. If any of the following describe your organization, we might be able to offer you better value at a lower price point:

  1. Seeking to deploy the best public WiFi experience and venue / ISP management portal
  2. Looking to decrease your current Internet and WiFi costs without replacing your hardware
  3. Hoping to make more money from your paid WiFi arrangement and promote your offerings

WIFI ADVERTISING

Qlicket provides brands the unique opportunity to interact with premium audiences at India’s most marquee locations, such as international airports, hotels, and malls; users receive free Internet access in exchange for interacting with your advertisement. Qlicket gives you access to this captive audience to engage users when they are most attentive: just before they receive free WiFi.

THE MISSION

Qlicket’s mission is to bring people online and provide them with the best possible free Internet experience in what will be the world’s most populous country.

We promise to provide you with the best possible WiFi experience.

Thank you

  1. U ROCK

I must promote this on Monday…

MAY THE FORCE BE WITH YOU

Ps – how do you sell? Is it DIY? DO you need to meet partners?

  2. Hi thank you for the kind words!!

    – License based model and the only requirement is some working Internet connection

    – DIY (signup on website, and we ship a box that you can plug & play after payment)

    – We do handhold / consult / offer customer support as necessary at no add’l cost

    – We can often work with most existing hardware (so no upfront capex costs)

    – Here’s our fee structure:

    Rs 4,999 one-time installation
Rs 2,499 per controller per month
Rs 499 per access point per month

A hotel with an AP in each room and high occupancy can have it work out to be less than Rs 20 per room per day. One can also make revenue from third-party advertising or promote house offerings, while also making it easier for patrons to enjoy free Internet.

We’d love to meet more clients and partners who might be interested in this offering! Our biggest challenge right now is that we have what many believe is this great product … but we need more distribution! We’ve just started going to market with this new offering, and while have initial paying customers, we’d like to start ramping up even more … we want this to be anywhere and everywhere!

    Thank you so much!!
    Vivek

  3. One place where it could surely help Mumbai Suburban railway, over 5 million people commute daily, have over 2 hours of time on mobile and are victims of poor internet pay like crazy for 3G (atleast Rs 300 average) and get some shit Edge speeds.

    You could have 3 models

    1. Free version – Ad supported

    2. Premium – Ad supported/ Higher speeds

    3. Premium – No Ads/ Highest speeds

This is something we desperately need, I’m happy finally someone has a solution for it.

    cheers,

    Satish

  4. I totally agree, Mumbai Railway Station would be the best places to install such things. But, I think only 2 models might work:

    1. Free – Ad supported/ Higher speeds

    2. Premium – No Ads/ Highest speeds

I feel, if speed for free ads would be slow, it would take ages for the ads itself to load and the purpose would be lost!

Just sharing my 2 cents here 🙂

However you may choose to ignore, government could be your no 1 customer.

Since this new government is savvy, I think you should make it a thrust area
