WOULD YOU LIKE TO BE A PARTNER RATHER THAN A SERVICE PROVIDER ?

Hi Rodinhooders,

Since last few months whenever I think of doing something new or i have any query the first thing which come to my mind is this forum.

Just a month back our website cakehunt.com was launched. Response is good. We started this project keeping in mind just 3 locations for next 3 months. To our surprise we are getting inquiries for locations which we have not yet opened. Moreover received inquiries for New Jersey and California. We don’t like to say no, however we have to say it. One delivery for Pune is pending (we have not taken the order, however will be helping the client to get it delivered at her place and will be done)

There are so many people in this group who are into field services. Maybe somebody is into errand management, somebody is running online grocery shop, somebody is running food delivery services or QSRs, Sweets & Namkeen Delivery etc.

Why can’t we join hands ? It will help of all us grow. You continue working on your idea, become our location partner. Will share the delivery and other details with you well in advance. It may help you pitch your products or services to new clients through these deliveries and tie ups. To be very specific, we are not looking for somebody who want to provide services to us. Become a location partner with us. You will be owner of business at that locations. As in any partnership firm, we will share revenues.

If anybody is interested then let me know. You can have a look at our previous discussion about our project by clicking here.

Visit our website at cakehunt. Our facebook page FB CAKEHUNT.

  1. Hi Ashish,I would like you to clarify on the following things.

Your previous post said, We are best in service. On which standards are you saying this? Financially, whats the performance? Are you talking abt customer satisfaction?

Plus, you said you are selling cakes at par with free home delivery. So I hope your revenue model lies on the commission from cake-wallahs plus any upselling in form of bouquets etc.

I am looking at a high hopeful chance of partnering you for Mumbai as a location but looking at the market scenario, where big cake manufacturers like Birdy’s n all are selling through JustEat, Foodpanda and TK.. that too at about 30% discounts from time to time, I would like to know what would be the USP of cakehunt? Also, we can chat sometimes later when I am in the city back on Monday. Nevertheless, all the best for your venture 🙂

  2. I would NOT suggest focussing on all out distribution, partnerships, tie ups etc etc

Just become GREAT at what you do in the Environment that you CAN CONTROL.

Example – Smoking Joes began as small but niche pizza shop just behind my house on Peddar Road.

They slogged, got their product right in SOUTH MUMBAI and then attacked the world.

Same with Mc’Doanalds, Dominos etc when they started.

Just look at this page on your website and ask yourself – are you even prepared to serve your OWN customers? https://www.cakehunt.com/locations/

  3. Ashish,

There are still some areas on the website which you need to customize as Alok also pointed out the default Template is still visible, as I pointed out some in the last post too

The integration for the cart is also an issue since these are missing from the site currently as used from the Theme :

    HTML Components

    404 Not Found

    Font File

    404 Not Found

    Image file

    404 Not Found

The “Back to Top” Button is still in the same location, as I had suggested to have it changed to the left side or move a Half Inch above the current Location on the Scree Position since it hides the Social media buttons at the bottom and overlaps them making it difficult to click.

Do get these checked and corrected / rectified

    Cheers!!!

  4. Hi Sidharth,

Thanks a lot for the feedback and interest..

    1. We are best in Service: Yes we are, in terms of service only. Products are any how customers choice. We do what we commit. We are basically into services and as mentioned in our first post about the idea of cakehunt we started cakehunt.com by using our service delivery expertise. 100% we are talking about the customer and bakers satisfaction. About financially, we are not pitching here for any investment. We started this website on 29th June 2013. We are getting a handful of orders through references.

    2. Free Home Delivery : I believe there is some confusion, as of now we have never ever mentioned it. We say we charge for the deliveries and consider that as our main income. Yes, we do get share in the sell from the bakers. Bouquet are are also at actual price and we don’t get anything from the Fool- Wallas. It is just to serve the clients and avoid the migration of traffic for this from our site.

    3. Mumbai : I am sorry to say that, i forgot to mention about it in the post. We are already in talk with 2-3 good peoples who has served as a great support to us in this venture from the very start.

    4. About Discounts and USP: Commit what you can do and Do what you commit. Our focus is mainly on services than selling. Customer is selecting products from the place of his/her choice. We are just helping them in buying. We don’t believe that any business model can be based only on discounts. Yes, it can be in case of mobiles and other gadgets, clothes etc.

I request you to kindly visit few websites dealing in such sites, you will come to know about the difference for sure. Yes there are some or many problems with our website as pointed by Alok Sir and Darshanbhai. The concept is very clear. It is our lack of technical expertise which is hindering the smoothness in the process, hope to be solved asap. We are looking for somebody who understand the difference between a start up and a corporate.

It will be a pleasure talking to you soon, Regards, Ashish Parik

  5. Dear Alok Sir,

Good Morning ! I am feeling blessed that you have read my post and replied to it. I don’t know how suitable is my this reply on this query. Trying to reply with being true to every word.

All the credit for this post somehow goes to you only. Read your post “Have you been wiped out?” 3 days back. I have sent you a separate mail on this. I feel guilty of being slow in execution of plan for another project ics24by7.com. Didn’t wanted to repeat it in cakehunt.com.

When we rolled out cakehunt.com, I was very clear that I am not going to expand till the time we are the first choice for any cakes, from any place and delivery anywhere in Gujarat. However the guilt and response to this project has tempted me to expand to few other cities outside Gujarat.

Our problem is we think less with brain and work more as per the heart talk. We work and speak only truth with everybody we come across. This could be our negative point in business and reason for losses in recent times.

I am betting on this project because I can’t quit and will never…

Locations: It is a blunder as of now, I confess it. We are a sort of copy-paste peoples when it comes to IT, however original in dreams . One of our client (baker) who is having in network in 6-8 cities in Gujarat has agreed for working with us in these locations. So we instructed to website developer to add these locations few days back. We have not received the list so it is blank. When you open our website, it says “cakes to Ahmedabad, Baorda and Rajkot”.

Also, there is option to select location while buying the cake.

I promise, I will control the emotions and will try to use more brain.  Personally, value your every word and the special characters too.

  6. Darshanbhai,

You are a gift to me from trhs…… As per our last discussion, we had sent these queries to the developer. The way everybody is possessive about his idea, our developed is also. Sent to day him a fresh mail and surely i will get it done asap.

About locations, i am going to have separated meeting with him on Monday. I value your suggestions and Alok Sir’s every word. Thanks for always being there to help me.

  7. About discounts and USP:

Check out this offer which is live. https://foodie.tastykhana.in/deal/23/337

This is just one of the multiple offers in multiple cities that the site is running. Also, there is a website called Justeat.in and you can find coupons at https://www.coupondunia.in/justeat. They are also giving upto 150 off. Monginis cakes are available at 30% discount when you recharge from Paytm. Foodpanda coupons are available from time to time on discounts when you recharge through Freecharge.in

Here their USP is basically advertising and aggressive marketing through cost leadership. Plus, technically even starrtup sites like TK are capable of handling huge orders.

I am not in any way demotivating, but trying to bring the facts to you. Hope you learn from it, create something that these sites are not providing. What you need to provide them is what you need to find.. the USP of your site. Commit what you can do and Do what you commit is a fancy one liner, but you need more than one liner to be successful in this venture. And hopefully you will… 🙂

  8. Thanks Sidharth,

    Point noted..

  9. We are industrial chocolate manufacturer which is also used in Cakes. How we can partner?
