Ask For Help

Cafes Cafes everywhere, not many good ones to work from!

Hey everybody,

So I was checking with my friends on facebook, and Asha rightly re directed me to ask the right questions at the right places! So one thing that is common between all entrepreneurs is Working from Cafes! While everybody has their favourite places to work from, it would be so good to share the good places with each other, so we can all go and feel good at such places!

Inviting you all to fill up this spreadsheet and earn some good karma – https://bit.ly/1AVF4xZ

I am starting the list with some from Delhi, request you to mention some from your cities in the comments section, before one of us finally compiles them all in a neat post (with links/phone numbers) so everybody can benefit from it. Enough talking, lets get working!

DELHI

1. Social Offline – Hauz Khas Village, South Delhi

2. Costa Coffee, Bengali Market, near Mandi House – Crowded most of the time, but still serves as a good join to work from.

3. Cafe Coffee Day, East of Kailash Market, South Delhi (Most CCDs are not conducive to work from, this one however is)

4. CCD Lounge, Janpath, Connaught Place (Besides Mc Donalds) – A hot spot for professionals thanks to the many offices around. But too crowded over weekdays.

5. Cafe 21, Preet Vihar, Vikas Marg, East Delhi – Year old cafe, makes for a nice quaint place to work from.

6. Innicio Cafe, Stirring Minds Rooftop, Asaf Ali Road(Near CP) – Brand new cafe on the rooftop of co working space Stirring Minds.

Will add more as I remember! Kindly pour in your thoughts in the meantime 🙂

  1. hey thanks for posting this prateek.

i really need to do a list for goa as well!! my husband keeps telling me to get out of the house more often :)))

let me ping everyone i know who use work cafes – lots of rodinhooders in b’lore and mumbai do!

you know something prateek – the more i think of it, some of us should start running such work cafes for startups in different cities!!! a lot of folks need to randomly walk into a cafe instead of working at a co-working place all the time. we need to take little little breaks from our routine.

okay – before i get carried away and approach my angel investor husband, let’s also get ideas whether it would be easier to start a google doc (spreadsheet) instead….

or whether we seek ideas here and get one person to volunteer to start compiling it all in a spreadsheet….

  2. I completely completely agree!!! More such ‘work cafes’ needed!! I don’t mind paying more for a coffee, but i would love to get my peace of mind and a good environment to work from!

  3. Yes, google doc will be better. Should I create it? What all fields should it have?

  4. Compiling a spreadsheet would be better. Have a lot of places to add from Mumbai . This is just one of those things which make you think “why didn’t it strike me earlier to make something like this”

  5. so prateek is compiling a spreadsheet!! we just spoke on the parameters etc – feel free to add more points as soon as it’s up!

  6. Spreadsheet now ready!

  7. Hey Prateek, and everyone else – we made an app that we believe nails this problem down.

    Detailed post here.
    App here.

Do check it out and tell us what you think? 🙂

  8. Hi Abhishek,

I really like the idea of your app. Its really good to find cafes which have WiFi in it, solving a huge problem for a lot of people! 🙂

However, the problem at hand here is a little different, we are trying to find out places(including cafes) which are conducive to work from. So while WiFi is one of the problem, ambience, parking, cost, friendliness are some of the other issues which help people decide on what is ideally a best suited work from place for them.

But really appreciate your app, its gonna solve the problem for a lot of people 🙂 Cheers! 🙂

  9. Hi Prateek,

Good to know you like the idea of the app! 🙂

Understand the differences in the list you’re building and what we have going right now. We’re trying to figure where to take this – and what you’re attempting is one direction that we had in mind.

I do genuinely hope this helps more people as it did me. Feel free to share it around. 😛

    Cheers!

    > Coffee on Canvas in Kormanagala
