Fyne.in.. Are we ahead of times??

Hi Rodinhooders!!

As with most people working in companies esp in field of Sales & Marketing and thinking, i work like an ASS and I do have a bit of brain, so why spend these attributes on someone’s company but then your inner conscious say’s “but dude.. Do you have money to sustain.. gosh there won’t be month end credits in your account.. GOD SAVE YOU AND YOUR FAMILY!!!

You overcome your inner conscious and now its Family.. You tell ur wife and parents about starting on your own and all you get is a SILENT STARE which has more words than a Shout.. Oh GOD!! Tis is a Middle Class Phenomena!

Then its idea time!! Hey are’nt we in an environment which more or less talks about E-com?? So why not e-com.. E-com sure.. But what to sell?? Now let’s see what is that which is not available but is plentifully needed …. Dress, Electronics,Computers, E-Cigarettes, Baby Diapers, Jewelry, Groceries, DOG FOOD too ..yeah yeah.. all filled.. but there is enough business even in these categories so why not open another store.. Naah!! Wanna be the first in the category!

Then comes the breakthrough thought.. I am a civil engineer and why not in the same domain? So then comes Construction materials.. Are there any sites? Yeah… more on Home Decor but not much in Sanitary Ware, Western Commodes, etc etc.. Now this idea needs to be bounced off to someone who actually is in the industry and who else but friends and family.. Meet up with my Family Friend Mini Gopinath who is an Architect and has her own firm “Aus Architecture”and shoot my idea.. The bullet hits her and whola! She is excited to be part of this!

Then , it’s all about getting the name right , registering domain name…. the baby was named FYNE.in, and then carefully getting the prototype ready ( din’t want the company that i was working for to know about my venture 🙂 ) and hey i did all this only on weekends and holidays.. The prototype gets ready , then its alliance time.. Met few industry guys and got few brands in and then payment gateway , company registration etc etc .. ALL DONE.. NOW QUIT THE JOB and it happened.. I quit my good and on-time paying employer who told me to think again and think I did!

Hey forgot to tell about the VAT guys.. Wanted VAT registration, the inspector comes and says SORRY!! We cannot give VAT registration where you stay.. You need a separate premise.. I said ” Hello .. It’s “work from home” time.. I don’t stock.. I only make alliances and sell..” She does not budge.. So , now identify a space.. How much budget.. what kind of place vagera vagera.. then an angel in the form of neighbour tells me to use a space in her house which has a different entrance.. This works and i get my VAT reg…Yeah!!

Now everything is done.. I am live , i create a Facebook page promote and get it to reach 5k.. work on SEO of my site and get a decent place on the net.. (yet not been able to break the binge barrier though).. Decent traffic starts and the day i commercially launch , Mr.Ramratan Singhii becomes my first customer with a 20K ORDER! 

And it’s a month now that i have launched this site and we have till date done better than the short milestones that we had kept.. Also i got an office space to share.
