The People’s Stage at the Websummit, Dublin.

Hi guys, myself Akshay Shah (an active Rodinhood reader) and a co-promoter of an Enterprise Software Product Company – iWeb Technology Solutions – www.iwebtechno.com. We have a base in Mumbai, Goa and Pune respectively.

Am somewhat like Alok a non techie into technology by chance 🙂 I am a CA dropout and not formal technologically trained but I love technology so am in this field for the love of it!

I started up during my college days and co promoted iweb in 2005. Our vision from the very beginning was to chart out a niche for iweb and inspire others to make great MADE IN INDIA Products and Technologies!

Personally I hate the sight of the west ruling us as far as IT goes. I hated to be known as a great IT Service, Body Shopping nation. We started iweb to beat the blues of SAP, Microsoft, Oracle and the others out of business and are going head strong in that resolve!

Though the going is tough, we like it that way 🙂 More details on me (if anyone interested) is available at www.iwebtechno.com

Keeping this long story very short, there is an opportunity to speak at The People’s Stage at The Websummit, Dublin where we expect the whose who from the IT Startup and Silicon Valley world where am also keen to speak on the upcoming new trends in IT as in BPaaS and BPM worlds where more and more coding is being automated and that’s what we are also attempting at iweb, some kind of robotics in coding to automate manual coding to a large extent and make the business application development scenario totally auto coded or codeless in some sense!! Keeping this in mind I personally feel that in the coming decade we will have more and more smart techies and not more and more dumb coders as our technology is becoming smart forcing us to become smart too, planning to speak on this topic if you guys vote and help me garner enough votes to represent this thought with a MADE IN INDIA Software Product tagline for sure!!

My humble request as below, please help as in the end its all in the family guys 🙂

With your FB LIKE I can introduce and speak on MADE IN INDIA software products, platforms, BPaaS and BPMs to the world TO PROVE THAT WE INDIANS ARE NOT JUST CYBER COOLIES, even we can build GREAT PRODUCTS AND PLATFORMS AND WITH QUITE A FEW SUCCESSES UNDER OUR BELT THE NEXT DECADE BELONGS TO US AND OUR MADE IN INDIA SOFTWARE PRODUCTS!! please help me chart the Indian Software Product Map in the Silicon Valley Terrain, need your help and support, vote for me now and share generously

Thank you!

  9. Done.

    All the best Akshay 🙂

  10. It’s great to see someone looking beyond body-shopping and consulting to make a product-based company. Good luck

Aside from the topic: You are using watermarked images on the website. Have you confirmed the licensing terms?

  11. Yes the images are free stock images, we are going to revamp them with paid ones in the next couple of months or so, do vote for me here and share the link as its only if you vote I can be there and represent you and our sentiment there, Cheers! https://www.websummit.net/competitions/peoples-stage/entries.html#2-406

  12. Thanks Vinay, please spread the word, cheers!!

  13. Done. Good going.

  14. while the intent and pitch is great, I want to point out this statement:

“Personally I hate the sight of the west ruling us as far as IT goes. I hated to be known as a great IT Service, Body Shopping nation. We started iweb to beat the blues of SAP, Microsoft, Oracle and the others out of business and are going head strong in that resolve!”

I dont think this is a positive frame of mind for any businessman or entrepreneur!

Remember this – if you hate someone else’s success, you will never enjoy success yourself…

APPRECIATE THE WEST. LEARN WHAT have they done to become what they are?!!

By blocking recognition, & admiration – you block learning. Then you will never make it to the top.

  15. Hi Alok,

Thanks for your comment, the intent of the word “HATE” here is not to HATE the west but to HATE the approach most of the west has on us of only being capable of service arbitrage, they have not encouraged and will ofcourse never encourage us to take them ON, I have all the respect and adulation on what they have done in technology and by far they deserve to be where they are!

Btw hope you have voted, do share vividly so I get enough votes to go there 🙂

    Cheers!

    Akshay.

  16. Thanks Tejas, please share with all 🙂 More the merrier!!!

  17. The outcome of all your love and support is as below, will need more of it in the finals though 🙂 But here is a sincere heartfelt thanks to all Rodinhooders, Hip Hip Hurray!!

    Thanks 🙂

    Hi Akshay,

Great news: you’re through to the final of the Web Summit People’s Stage! After a gruelling week of voting you came in at 10th place with 300 votes – the full results are below. Well done!

So what happens next? Over the coming month we’ll be running another couple of Round 1 pools, the top 30 from which you’ll be competing against in the final. Voting for the final will begin in early August – exact date TBC – and the top 50 finalists will get to speak at the Web Summit People’s Stage (as well as receiving a free ticket).

For the final, you’ll need to submit a 2 minute (max) video previewing your proposed talk at the Web Summit – the shorter the better. We’ll have details on where and how to upload it closer to the time, but for now just aim to have yours ready by Monday July 29th.

Any further questions, let me know. And congrats again!

    Best,

    Rob

  19. I appreciate what Infosys / TCS and other bigwigs have done for India and our society, but the fact remains that IT in India, at large, refers to body shopping and outsourcing. It’s good to see that someone is willing to put aside his patriotism, accept this fact, and dare to change it.

We should think beyond what Murthy has done. To create something new, we need to step out of the shadow of our past glory.

  20. Thanks Nishant, precisely trying to do what you have aptly mentioned above, God Bless All!

  21. I updated as discussued Asha, thanks!

  22. voted again! all the best!!

  23. Thanks Asha, hope everyone else does too 🙂

    Cheers!
