Looking for funding for our startup – Dailykart

WHO ARE WE:

We are a group of students from different educational background working on a startup that will revolutionise grocery marketing forever. However, we lack the skill to comprehend certain aspects like the amount of funding we need. This makes it imperative to have a mentor throughout the process. We are also looking for investment that can help kickstart our project.

Since the inception of our project we have tried to run as many mental simulations and come up with possible hurdles and tweak them.We request you to go through our powerpoint presentation. The startup is only an idea as of now and rendering to that fact the ppt has been made such that all the details are mentioned in a paragraph form, not leaving out anything, rather than the traditional point based format.

BIO:

KARTIK BHATT : Student at MAIT doing Btech in EEE. He comes up with the problems and their possible solutions.

CHAITANYA SHUKAL: Student at Delhi University doing Bcom. He is our goto man for business and legal queries.

HARSHAVARDHAN:  Student at Chinese University of Hong Kong doing BS in Computer Science. I come up with sensible and realistic solution for the current problem.

IDEA:

The local grocery sector is a sector with lot of potential but is very unorganized. While some stores provide free delivery for their customers even when the total cost of the order is less than 100 rupees, some stores don’t provide home delivery at all. More importantly, there is no way to check the availability of a product in a certain shop. This predicament makes buying groceries a gruesome process for the working adults, students and housewives. Regardless, the current online market hasn’t been able to convince the buyers of their effectiveness, authority or even credibility. Henceforth, a new app that ties all the loose ends has a unique opportunity to fill this void.

Our company will provide a mobile application and a website that will be interactive and will allow the users to buy groceries online. Furthermore, it will allow users to connect to the nearby stores and order, while they sit in the comfort of their homes. The niche of the company would be our ability to connect to the stores nearby and incorporate much needed gamification that the current online grocery market has failed to deliver, which will facilitate the job to find the best deals on certain grocery products quintessentially products with higher rates.

  1. hi harsh,

one very quick piece of feedback. your ppt isn’t very reader friendly. so it deters me from reading all the information 🙁

perhaps if you use upper-lower case and more bullet points, it would help? also i think the black and grey colour scheme isn’t helping either.

ps: if you add a twitter handle to your post it would help me mention you!

    all the best.

  2. Please check the changes 🙂

  3. First things first:

please answer in less than 140 characters

    (1) What problem does your product solve, that other products/companies are not already solving?

    (2) What important truth (first principle) is your product based on? One core idea that very few people agree with you on.

    (3) What is the sustainable competitive advantage your product/company has that other companies/product don’t or won’t in the future (money does not qualify)

… if after these questions, you still want to pursue this, then…

Being mobile first is key in almost every product geared towards Indian population.  In your designated area, it’s even more crucial since kirana guys and common folks use their mobile a lot, (some don’t even have access to PCs).

So please get someone who is exceptional at android development, front-end development and someone good with databases and security.

If you want to work on an off-the-shelf platform, look at Opencart and Spree and then install any theme you like to get started. Select a good hosting plan with a reputed provider to avoid unnecessary hassles and daily upkeep.

  4. Thanks for the input. We plan to make an android app however right now we are looking for investors.

  5. HI

I would be happy if you can clarify what gamification you intend to do (slide 3 point3)

    Thanks

    JEyo

  6. We wish to have a leaderboard and a point system.

In the point system we will give points for every purchase and the points can be used for getting special discounts.

The leaderboard will be based on the points system and the top scorer of any particular region( we haven’t created a list of regions yet) will get some reward at the end of the month for example 10 kg rice or flour.
