Our First Crowd Funding Campaign for Road Trip India

Hello RodinHooders,

I am so delighted to write this piece since me and my team have successfully launched our first crowd funding campaign! The past few weeks we were trying to figure out how to raise money for our company and were struggling a lot when this idea crossed our mind and it was like an opportunity that we hadn’t used before so we decided to give it a try. I hope Alok Sir reads this and contributes a little for our campaign as well 😉 🙂

Alrighty, here’s the deal though, we’re developing a new game which is a sequel to our previous game ‘Road Trip Action‘. I remember having a conversation with Alok Sir in his office and through his valuable suggestions he had advised us to stick to one genre and run with it. He also told us not to run behind IPs at this stage but none the less the entrepreneurial spirit in us said we should take this risk, stick to the one genre and run with it. But this time we decided to take it slow and make this product as good and perfect as possible from our side and not rush the launch phase. So we are actually going through a proper development cycle through which we validated the game idea within a few people, mostly close friends, and with this crowd funding thingy we plan to validate it even more so we can get a clear idea as to where the game stands even before we launch it.

So we chose Indiegogo.com as our crowd funding platform. For contributions at $25, $50, $100, $150, $350 and $500 we have kept perks such as keychains, T-Shirts, Umbrellas, Iron Man 8GB pen drives!(How cool is that? B| ), SkullCandy Earphones and A Remote Controlled Car!

Coming to the idea of the game, Road Trip India is a sequel of Road Trip Action with India as its theme. We have amazing backgrounds and India specific cars with some desi masala and tadka to it. Also its kinda cool to actually see your own city in a game. We’ve all played and loved Games2win’s Crime Squad India and adored the desi artwork. We hope that we can prove a great competition for that game and establish ‘Road Trip’ as our franchise the way Alok Sir has established Parking Frenzy as Games2win’s 🙂

We see endless possibilities with this game and we’ve just started to think big. We would love to have you on board on this exciting adventure that we’ve set on and it would be highly encouraging for us if we could get any crowd funding amount from you guys. All contributors will be mentioned in the credits list of the game! The very first amount we received on the campaign was of $2 and we wish to thank the contributor with our whole heart for their belief in us.

  1. None of the cars look indian??

  2. The video is of our other game ‘Road Trip Action’. Since we are still developing the levels of the game we haven’t made a video with the cars in the game yet. The game includes some awesome Indian cars like: Ambassador, Nano, Rickshaw, Maruti, etc 🙂
