“I bow down in reverence to all my teachers. The teacher that is this life I’ve been given. The teacher that is all hardship and difficulty on my path. And that teacher who is nearby and within.”

editor’s note: this is our 5th guest newsletter and a real rocking one! looking fwd to many more… stay cool 🙂 asha@rodinhood.com

Hey RodinHooders,

Many of us have a habit to pen down our thoughts on a blog or our personal diary. But I had a friend who would religiously write down what she learnt that day.

Every day, every person, every thing around us teaches us something.

We may start learning as toddlers from walking to holding a pencil but the real learning starts when we pass out of school.

We all admire ‘someone’, look up to ‘someone’, idolize ‘someone’ that someone could be a teacher, a parent, a friend, a mentor, a public figure or maybe even just the next door RodinHooder. We have different reasons on why that person has that position on our life. And as the Indian tradition goes, every student needs to give their teacher – ‘Guru Dakshina’; so today go ahead and give your guru dakshina to that special ‘someone’.

So here are some of my learnings from the posts on TRHS in the last week.

Connecting People

Effective polite communication is the essential grease. The MopStar Sushrut with his #StartupMuddyShoes

Even the best product needs to be aggressively sold to make an impact. Sunaina in conversation with Traveller Kids Shitij Malhotra.

What might be considered wow in one part of the country may just be the norm somewhere else. Kaizad Patel from SatisFIND interviewed by Sushrut.

Think Different

Hire people by looking into their eyes and hoping to find any of these – passion, deep belief, hunger, thirst, restlessness, frustration and or conviction. That’s how Alok hires people. What about you?

Growing up meant unusual changes,  but a change in attitude and perception could make her a winner. Some discussions can be awkward. How Deepa Kumar managed to talk about the same with her daughters. You can too with  ‘How to tell your child’.

Just as I have a reliable toolkit at home, to fix the leaks, creaks and freaks at my house, an entrepreneur must be able to do that for their own venture.Well, Kriti is at her usual best.

Imagination of work

Shopping online can sometimes become a very lonely experience – Is it true? Help Anshul with your insights on Fabence.com.

Shouldn’t content and substance have more visibility than people? Let Ashok know if Trunoid is being able to fill the gap.

A travel market place connecting products and services that  form the daily needs, activities and desires. This is how Nakul defines his venture Fork My City.

Because you’re worth it

I know my entire business plan. Why do I need a presentation? Gaurav thinks otherwise.

Work is not everything that there is. Vijay asking a very subtle question here. Who writes your bloody script?

Pitch Pitch Pitch! Feedback Feedback Feedback! Iterate Iterate Iterate! Is this the sole buzzword for Entrepreneurship today? Arjun wants to know.

Impossible is nothing

I plan to succeed by talking about my failures. Go help Aman crowd fund his next venture.
