What is wrong with facebook?

Dear Zuckerberg,

I am a religious fan of facebook. I wake up in the morning and the four tabs that I open is Gmail, Tweetdeck, Facebook and bluegape. Till the time I go back to sleep, these are the four tabs that always remain open in the browser irrespective of what I am doing. I stay logged into facebook chat for most of the time I work on my laptop just because if someone has any quick question he can ping and ask. I can also see who is online.

I just don’t want to or simply I can’t reply to some timepass pings when I am doing something important. But few days back facebook launched this stupid‘Seen’ thing on chat. Now if someone pings me and I go to facebook to see if there’s something important, It displays that stupid ‘Seen’ thing on other guy’s chat box. Now if you don’t reply to them they will believe that I am ignoring them.

Dear facebook, why are you playing with my Privacy? Ok tell me, who needs this ‘Seen’ feature? If I am not replying to them, It’s just that I am not interested. Why do you want to offend my friend by telling that I have seen their ping but don’t care to reply. Are you not able to handle so much traffic on your servers and want me to log out from facebook whenever I am busy? (On a serious note, if that’s the case just redirect some users to bluegape.com, please! :-D)

Today morning facebook surprized me with one more new feature that they added this ‘Seen’ thing on group pages :-/ If someone posted in a group and I am not in a mood to reply right away it will still tell my friend that I am ignoring them. I can understand if there is another revenue model that you are working on around engaging more people on facebook by compulsively asking them to reply to other’s chat, but please understand that there is high probability that I will log out from facebook instead of replying to each and every chat. You know I can’t offend my friends. And what happens to your mission statement? I far as I know your mission statement is ‘to give people the power to share and make the world more open and connected’.

In short, minus one to these new features from my side. What’s up with you?
