This is Ankit Dabas. I am a Business Communication Manager at Sounds of Silence Foundation (SOS), India’s first technology based NGO. SOS empowers hearing impaired young people to overcome the barriers of communication by teaching them to communicate―in ways other than sign language―using SMS and WhatsApp. At SOS, we follow Oxford certified English communication training module to impart language skills to hearing impaired people.
In order to ensure holistic development of hearing impaired people, SOS have launched a social entrepreneurial venture to provide sustainable employment opportunities to hearing impaired people. As part of this endeavor, we have started up our BPO operations in which our trained hearing impaired employees handle customer support service on behalf of our clients. In addition to this, we strive to attain backend data operator job opportunities for our hearing impaired students.
We offer a portfolio of below mentioned services that are all facilitated and operated by our team of highly trained hearing impaired people.
1. Online chat functionality: We can partner with you to manage customer queries coming through online chat from client’s website. These queries will be handled and resolved by our trained team of hearing impaired people.
2. Search Engine Optimization (SEO) services: We use our SEO expertise to help bring more visitors to client’s website and thereby increasing their online business.
3. Offline Customer Support: Our team handles FAQs and offline client interactions on behalf of our clients.
4. Analytics and business intelligence support: We have a dedicated team to provide analytics insight to our clients to help them make better strategic decisions.
5. Data Entry projects: We have a dedicated team of skilled hearing impaired students to perform online and offline data operator roles on behalf of our clients.

We have recently started our social entrepreneurial venture to provide sustainable employment opportunities to hearing impaired, hence it is not yet published on our website. Initially SOS(Sounds of Silence) was dedicated to work for the development of deaf community via means of teaching in school. We have now started providing employment opportunities for students who have completed their education. It is a young start to our employment initiative and we are looking out for clients who can provide employment opportunities for our students in any of the services that I have mentioned.
