Point No 1: Because I Want to Be Searchable
I live in a Digital world. I like to “SEARCH” a lot & likewise I like when “others” SEARCH me. I treat myself like a corporate. I want to build my Brand like corporates do – therefore I use tactics that Corporates use – I want to Rank high when people search my name (SEO). Rodinhoods lets me do that. Look at the screen shot below –
You can see, Rodinhoods Ranks NUMBER 2. Of course, there are the usual LinkedIn and Twitters of the world, but those are common & don’t help me much. Rodinhoods lets me Blog, Advice, Speak My Mind, Showcase my Expertise, My work. I Blog on other sites too, but they DON’T rank High. In short Rodinhoods helps me build my Personal Brand.
PS:
Alok – You may not be a big SEO fan, but you may have to bite the Bullet on this one – Your name is still relevant on the 50th page of Google when I searched. I gave up after the 50th page because my Index finger on my Right hand got tired Clicking the Next> button.
Asha – Alok is a busy Man, but make sure he reads this Post (all in good sense 🙂 )
By the way, if you didn’t know already, the official name for people who searches themselves is EGOSURFER. There is a Wikipedia article on it.
Point No 2: Because I want to Be Famous:
I’m gonna live forever.
I’m gonna learn how to fly – high!
I feel it comin’ together.
People will see me and die. Fame!
I’m gonna make it to Heaven.
Light up the sky like a flame, fame!
I’m gonna live forever.
Baby, remember my name.
The above lyrics from the 1980 musical “The Fame” sums it up for me. I want to be FAMOUS – by being Famous I can make a lot of Money, Own a nice Home and drive a Luxury car. But with fame I, will also have Influence, and with Influence I can make a Change in this World. I can do GOOD for People – Rodinhood gives me this Opportunity – slowly but surely.
Point No 3: Because I Want to Be Connected
“The richest people in the world look for and build networks, everyone else looks for work.” – Robert Kiyosaki (the Rich dad Poor dad guy). It doesn’t matter where you are in your career, networking is important and goes a long way in building Business Relationships. Rodinhoods lets me Network and increase my connections. For me, Rodinhood is a more Active than LinkedIn.
Point No 4: Because I Want to Help & Be Helped
I am Social animal. I am Smart and Confident, but I often need help because I never STOP learning. On Rodinhoods, I can get help anytime – especially Professional help.
I also like to help others. Today morning while shopping at a Grocery store in San Francisco I donated $5 to help the disabled kids in my Neighborhood. I am not an all-out charity guy, but I like to help others as much as I can. I feel GOOD when I do that – it reminds me of the below Quote.
“What I spent I lost… What I possessed was divided… What I gave away I kept”. – Addison
Point No 5: Because I like What Rodinhoods Stands For
A year back, I wrote a Blog on Rodinhoods called “Web Made Bastards”. There was some backlash after I posted the Blog. It had content that was deemed controversial by some. I freaked out a little and reached out to Alok and asked for a second opinion on the post. To be honest his response was so simple that it took me by surprise. He simply said “Hey….it’s all fine !!!! Relax!!!”
In addition to building Entrepreneurship, Rodinhood is a place where you can EXPRESS yourself Freely and Fearlessly WITHOUT the worry of someone watching over you.
By the way the blog “Web Made Bastards” is still around. If you have time, check it out.
So dear Rodinhooders get out and Start blogging. EXPRESS yourself – The more you Contribute and help fellow Rodinhooders, the More famous you will become yourself.

Alok Rodinhood Kejriwal
:-))
Thanks!
I went upto page 67 & then google said “The rest of the results have been omitted because they are old etc” 🙂
Aneja Raj
Its truly Amazing! Its probably not only because of the amount of content you post (quantity), its also because people are are actually reading your posts (quality) – making you still relevant after 67 pages. I think this warrants a separate Blog on Online Reputation Management. How Rodinhooders can strategically build their profile Online.
