Startup

Need feedback on LurnQ

Hi all,

LurnQ is a startup in education space by IIT Bombay Alumni.

What is LurnQ?

We all like learning. Google came along and made it so easy to search and get stuff to read and learn from. But then EVERYONE started teaching. It got noisy.

And today with the absolutely never ending options out there – you can almost never find your own little library that has only those topics that you wanna learn.

LurnQ is your personal learning assistant.

Just tell her what topics you want to learn about and she’ll build your own library. Its so easy to search stuff when you know where you’ve kept it – isn’t it?

Shut yourself from the noise, just spend 30 mins with LurnQ. Learning is fun.

We invite you to be part of LurnQ community and give us feedback on the platform.

Please give your feedback through this form or just comment on this thread.

Help us grow. Do you teach lessons on your blog or write tutorials?

Just write them on LurnQ and share it with the rest. LurnQ make it very easy to create lessons.

Happy Learning,

Manish Reddy

LurnQ team

  1. Sorry about that. We are looking into it. Thank you for your time.

  2. manish,

can you pls let us know when it’s fixed. i was thinking of promoting this post on fb…

  3. Asha,

We have already fixed that. And thanks a lot for the promotion.

Do check out facebook page http://www.facebook.com/lurnq

  4. I have not registered on the site and I am very wary of putting in a Facebook Connect before I can get a peek of the product.   An intro video, especially when it is a unique concept, that shows how the product looks like behind the login wall would probably entice more users to sign-up.

  5. Hello Pandurang,

Thank you for your interest. We are in alpha stage and getting our product video done. The product video will be up as soon as possible. Actually, you can register without the Facebook connect by clicking on the register link. Please, do try it out without the Facebook connect.

  6. Awesome 🙂 Promoting it on a Facebook student community(1000+ members) . You owe me a ‘Thanks’ 😛 😀

  7. A big Thanks to you  🙂

  8. Hello Manish,

Looks great to use the social learning platform. You might need to check and fix ‘continuous page refresh’ on log on if the JavaScript is disabled.  Keep it up.

  9. If you want to shut us for 30 mins from the noise, make it downloadable 🙂

    Great UI. Something expected 🙂

But if I were to say learn more about ‘Branding’, what I see is articles which I can pick and choose in any sequence and wander myself to wisdom. Could be the intention, is it? I mean, this is how we get knowledge these days by following topics, right? We get smarter over a period of time but nobody can tell how 😉

More importantly, ‘randomization’ can be easily achieved by having a actionable ‘randomize’, structure is a bitch!

Also, for a better feedback, name competitors so we can compare 🙂 Whom should you guys be clubbed with ‘competitor-wise’ speaking? Tending towards Flipboard or iTunesU?

I might love my Flipboard but for some topic specific knowledge, the iTunes U structure is impressing me with every passing day! Oh, and I use Flipboard more than iTunes U but it doesn’t mean I trust it as a great curator for knowledge. Waiting for the daughter to get a bit older before I plunge her into Khan Academy.

Keep up the great work and feel free to get in touch!

  10. Thanks for the feedback. We will look into it.

  11. Thanks a lot for the detail feedback Dabas.

As of now, it is web based. Eventually it will be possible to download and use it across all platforms.

When you go to Explore Lessons under the Learn tab, you can select a topic or view a list of lessons which belong to the topics you have followed. Is that what you were looking for?

Coming to Flipboard and iTunesU, we are different from them. iTunesU is like an online university where read a few courses.

LurnQ is like an online open school for everything. You can learn, share or teach. It not just articles. You can create a lesson on how to cook biryani or share your opinion on Lokpal Bill. A lot can be learned from people opinions. On LurnQ, you can follow others and read what they are sharing or creating.

Hope you got my point. Thanks for checking us out.
