Frogo – an app to Discover & Book Amazing Activities in your city or when Travelling.

Hi fellow Rodinhooders,

Ah it feels good to be back 🙂 after a few months…Although I was always here but was silently watching all amazing stuff that you all have been doing all this while.

I was going through an interesting ride with my startup Yipeedo, which was showcased in this forum an year and half back as well, which was recently acquired by Giftxoxo. Me and Dhiraj (My Tech co-founder, Yeah right I had one :)) we joined team Giftxoxo as we found great synergies with the founders and thought of joining forces.

Founders at Giftxoxo (Sumit, Kushal, Manoj, Abhishek) have a knack to find amazing experiences to delight their consumers and together we have launched FROGO.

Story behind the name Frogo – Founders were sitting in Koramangla on a rainy day and discussing this idea, one of them saw a Frog hopping around and hence Frogo, resonates the fun a hopping frog has 🙂  Don’t sit idle, Hop around the city #HopOn

Frogo is available in 8 cities Bangalore, Mumbai, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Ooty, Goa, Coorg. We are making base stronger in metros, followed by tier 1 cities.

Frogo is a mobile app to help consumers Discover and Book activities and experiences in the city or when travelling.

How is Frogo Different? The USP is out-of-routine things to do in city, Most of us by default choose Movies, food, Malls as our weekend activity. However there is lot more to be explored in each city.

Frogo tries to bring all of that for you in one app.

At Frogo we are very serious about having fun 🙂 and so we have handpicked a wide range of activities and experiences.

Be it a Game of snooker, Riding a Harley, A salsa dance lesson, Go karting, Learning Pottery making, Horse Riding or Flying a Plane, we have it all.

Today am pleased to showcase Frogo in this forum and seek feedback from all of you.

We are currently live on Android and approaching 1000 downloads.
Look forward to hear from all of you.
Do show us some love on Facebook and Twitter 🙂
Rodinhooder,
Shalini

  1. hi shalini,

congrats once again on the acquisition!!

would love to hear more about the learnings from the acquisition and some insights you could share with other rodinhooders – do’s and do not’s 🙂

so quick q – how are you different from any other city activity planner – say for example stroll up?

  2. Thanks a lot Asha 🙂 Yes My post on learnings is pending, need breather to actually write it 😀

Frogo is different from similar apps in this space in 2 ways:

One we are talking about more of on the go activities and things to do, instead of events and food joints, This covers exclusive activities like Riding a Harley, Flying a microlight plane, Hot air Balloon ride (Coming soon), Scooba Diving, Wineyard Tour and the day to day fun things like Playing a game of snooker or PS4 or Bowling with your friends.

Second everything on Frogo is Bookable, we ensure end to end experience for our customers, once you are in the app you need not go to any other app/website to complete your bookings, Its all taken care of.

So next time when you are going out with friends and thinking what to do, just #HopOn.

  3. Coming to iTunes anytime soon?

Ps – This is a rude question, but can you go through this google link and tell me WHY  Tushky went wrong?

First start with their media coverage and then in the end go to their website

    https://www.google.co.in/search?q=tushky&oq=tushky&aqs=chrome..69i57j0l5.5174j0j4&sourceid=chrome&es_sm=119&ie=UTF-8

  4. Funny – Tushy debuted at therodinhoods.wpengine.com open house – https://www.therodinhoods.com/forum/topics/clueless-about-what-to-do-tushky-com-is-here-experiences-of

  5. Thanks for your comment Alok, IOS app is updated in itunes, should be out soon (if approved :P)

Yeah, have read about Tushky, closely followed them for sometime. Scaling for sure is the hardest. I don’t have complete insight on what went wrong with them but I have found a contact today to help me connect with Talvinder and get some learning on what are the things we need to watch for?

It is very important to learn and unlearn in today’s era of apps mela!

  6. hey shalini – i’m connected to talvinder over fb – happy to intro!

  7. Good to see you back Shalini 🙂 Would surely checkout the app soon.

It would be great if you can provide insights/learnings on why you moved from outing planning at Yipeedo to activity booking at Frogo.

  8. Thanks Abhishek, I was always here 😀

Yipeedo and Frogo are very similar and yet different :). Will share my learnings soon, just the fact that i didn’t get time to halt and pen down, its getting long due.

  9. great
