If you thought Startup events are all about gyaan baazi, then you haven’t attended a Rodinhoods Open House yet.
Of course, there is gyaan and learning and that too loads of it, but who said we can’t learn a thing or two with some dancing thrown in. Did someone say ‘dancing’?
Yes, you heard it right, we got ‘Jiggy with it’ thanks to Yogesh – an entrepreneur who danced his way to entrepreneurship (after doing 2 MBAs and lots of exciting jobs!) After sharing his inspiring (read colourful) journey to entrepreneurship that enabled him to travel the world, he forced us to shed our inhibitions and learn a few moves!
Have a look at the video below to see the audience grooving to some funky tunes and Alok taking to the stage to show off his dance skills 🙂
Clicking on the image below will take you to the youtube link for the video.

thank you for shooting this fun video and posting it for all of us vinay!!
what i loved the most is that yogesh managed to yank everyone out of their comfort zone – which is the first lesson in entrepreneurship!!
and secondly – he taught all of us that if you really set out to follow your dreams, your passions and work hard towards achieving it – you can. he danced his way around the world and finally set up a dance school and what not!!
i hope some rodinhooders went back home thinking “if this guy could dance his way to success – then so can i…”

Thanks Asha.
What I found most unique and interesting this time around at the OH, was that we saw entrepreneurs from different walks of life.
It was refreshing to see people pursue their entrepreneurial passions through various means such as music, movies, tech, crowd funding and co-working spaces.
And in the end, it was good to learn a thing or two about the entrepreneurs living in our very homes – the mompreneurs!

Why did we dance?
At therodinhoods open house, we danced live to an entrepreneurs beats. WHY? A few people pinged me and said, “Alok, are you trying to make the OH a ‘show’?
NO.
This is WHY WE DANCED:
– The entrepreneur asked everyone to start dancing. THIS IS NOT A COMFORTABLE request for Indians. THIS made them do what every entrepreneur HAS – GET OUT OF THEIR COMFORT ZONE
– We HAD TO FOLLOW STEPS – thats the double whammy of starting up – do something UNCOMFY AND then be DISCIPLINED at that…
We will DANCE, SING, SHOWER, RUN, WRESTLE, BOX – DO ANYTHING TO MAKE YOU AN ENTREPRENEUR.
SO BE WARNED.
