Continuing my effort to demystify how startups and startup jobs work, here are 9 questions you should ask the co founders of any startup before you join them. This is based on our experience hiring, and expectations of questions that we should be asked.

    i would be surprised if the founders shared their salaries with folks who come and interview – but really really love this approach!

  2. You never know, Asha.. some of us might be happy to give a general idea, assuming we’re still bootstrapping & earning way less than the market would pay us in regular jobs.

  3. I would also add

    – Who is their competition?

    – What are their EX-EMPLOYEES DOING? (Find them on Linkedin)

    – How does the office smell? (I mean it)

    Transparency is one of the key things that we emphasize. We understand that joining a startup is not like a normal job, and we want to make sure whoever we interview has the maximum amount of information possible.
