1. What exactly do you do? Simple and non-complicated.

Give the aam janta, the afraid-to-tell-I-have-a-problem people, an online space where they can share their worries or frustrations or simply things that bug them.

2. Why do you do what you do? Is it to make money, to become famous, to retire, to kill boredom, WHAT?

Well, we did it because we ourselves felt that need, to have a listener who could actually understand our problems not just sympathize with us. And frankly since this sector is still pretty unorganized; we liked the challenge.

3. Is there anything unique in what you do?  And here ‘unique’ can mean anything – doing what’s been done for donkeys years and yet in a more cost efficient manner, or something new in a boring business or line or simply inventing something completely new?

The uniqueness of the concept is that is the sharing of emotions, of wounds untold, of confusions that never seem to resolve; it is a concept that has bundled the most ambiguous clutter of myriad feelings and put it for any and everyone to access, benefit and contribute.

4. What happens if this fails?

Every failure is a stepping stone to success, so in the end we will succeed.

5. What’s gets you most irritated? And what makes you most happy? (mention anything – private, personal, confidential, if you committed a murder and are felling guilty about it or just what you wanna)

Since the inception of SharingDard, we have been dealing with a lot of vendors and the most irritating part is that almost never have we got the deliverables on time as promised when the deal was made.

The happiest moments come when we see some person sharing some very serious issues they face on the website and someone else takes the effort and time to console, comfort and even guide him/her.

6. What makes you tick? Why the hell are you doing this?

The thrill of running a business that is based on perpetual discovery of newer issues and problems that too with a lot of grey areas, keeps us on our feet always. The challenge just pumps up our adrenaline.

7. Famous last words – if you knew you are going to be hit by a truck tomorrow, what would you like to tell the world (other than crossing the road safely)?

Don’t think (much), Just Do it!

Also your photo and your email id and business url’s/names (if you want to share and get more visits)

Finally, say YES below the next para:

I solemnly put my hand on my religious book/favorite novel and swear that what I have said above (including my photos) is the truth. So help me, Rodinhood

Yes

  1. @Jitendra, Thanks for your feedback. Alongwith a significantly large user community who willingly help, guide, advise and show their empathy towards each other, we also have an eminent Psychologist and Psychotherapist Mrs Jasmine Khattar as our Key Advisor and a team of counselors with us who regularly contribute in making the overall experience more enriching. The user gets responses from fellow users, as well as from professionals subtly disguised as users. As it is a basic human tendency to guide the other person with your own life experience whenever somebody opens up to you, irrespective of whether the person is known to you or not. Will surely explore this app also and improvise further

  2. Thanks 🙂

  3. Hi Rikita,

I personally liked this social site very much and m registered there too. A break from usual FB…haha

You will be attending today’s Mumbai Startup Meetup, right? Looking forward to meet you there.

    Regards,
    Aman A Jha

  4. Hi Ritika,

People always have stuff to share anonymously, and i am sure this would be a hit 🙂 I wanted to ask if you guys have considered the idea of upvoting / downvoting a confession ?

  5. Hi Aman,

It was great to meet you at the meetup on Saturday. Thanks for your support and insights about SharingDard.

Look forward to many more such meetups and interactions! All the best for s4startups as well 🙂

    Regards,

    Ritika Sharma

  6. Hi Saraswathi,

You are absolutely right. There are a lot of things which people don’t find comfortable in sharing with their known ones, owing to their strong self image and many other reasons. We currently have built an algorithm for friend/buddy suggestions, depending upon the user’s characteristics and major setbacks in life. Will soon build the rating/voting mechanism too.

    Regards,

    Ritika Sharma

  7. Pain Points 🙂 Sharing Dard !!

Nice going Ritika, “You’re not obligated to share everything that’s on your mind.” though sometimes everyone feels to let out and this is one sure way of doing so “Anonymously” so helps calm down in many ways, maybe there are a lot of ways and things this can be made better with more participating and taking advantage of this to take it further ahead as a different kind of Social network in the future, Yo Go Girl!!!

Cheers!!  Wishing You Good Luck, Keep Sharing the Dard.

  8. Hey Ritika,

This is so interesting and a subject which everyone thinks of solving when one is going through emotions, but never executes. !.:)

On a lighter note guess who would be the person who can completely rock your platform- Suhel Seth!.:D

  9. I just registers in  your site , i loved the concept , few ideas from my side ,

1.I wasnt in low mood or anything when i logged in your site , but interface and pictures affected my mood to some extent , i believe that the reason to share something in your site is to overcome that Dard and be happy , so make your site BIT just A Bit  happier .

    2. Improve design , make it responsive and you can easily integrate with bootstrap i guess , will definitely affect your traffic .

    3. Make a Facebook confession page so you can get good social media marketing with this and contact other confession pages admin too , might click with some of them .

    4. Profile pic , hummm to have it in such website not a good idea , i mean no one is keeping real , y to keep it ???

    5. And upload or share some wisdom for how we can be happy and all like link to anthony robbins vid’s or link to books and all .

ELSE THUMBS Upp to u n team .!! best of luck for future ..! you are doing good work …

and ya People you may know ??? we are anonymous how we will be knowing , edit that to something else ..

  10. Thanks Darshan 🙂

  12. Thanks for your feedback Nitish !

We are working towards revamping the design and the user experience in terms of look and feel. And yes, it would be responsive to all 3 platforms (Desktop, Tablet and Mobile Phone). I shall keep the group posted when the new design is implemented. It has a much more positive appeal than the current one.

We already have a Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/pages/SharingDardcom/291418960977804. Great suggestion about collaborating with admins of other confession pages. Let me divert some of my energies there.

Your suggestion regarding the profile pic is valid. At the same time, we have a Photo Blur feature which many few users might have noticed. It provides the user an option to keep their own profile picture blurred if they so wish. We have kept the option open for the user to decide to put up a profile picture of their choice.

We are working towards these options to be provided on the website. I have another professional tele counseling initiative called ‘Your Candid Friend’ which is soon going to be integrated with SharingDard soon.

Thanks for pointing People you may know error. Will get that rectified asap !

Keep giving more feedback as and when you feel so. We are open to criticism as well 😉

    Regards,

    Ritika Sharma

  13. Hey Ritika,

I can look to get you connected. As and when I find his co-ordinates will pass it on to you!.:)

And, sorrry for being a little late in replying.:):). Will share it across my social network.

  14. Great.. Thanks 🙂

  15. cool site… read some confessions, but were they really true? need a point that ensures writers that those confessions or prblms were true

  16. Hi Ritika,

Just came across a similar startup 7 Cups of Tea – They’re one of the top 8 startup ideas at this year Y-Combinator, as listed by TechCrunch.

    https://techcrunch.com/2013/08/20/y-combinator-demo-day-summer-2013/

    Regards,

    Vikram

  17. Hey Praveen,

Thanks for the feedback . As you know, this is user generated content, so the confessions must be based on real life incidents mostly..our team of counsellors keeps a check on the content being posted and to ensure that the sanctity is maintained..

As we scale up, we would be deploying more robust mechanisms on the website. Will keep you posted. Let the feedback keep coming ! 🙂

    Regards,

    Ritika Sharma

  18. Hi Vikram,

Yes Vikram, I also saw that too. It’s a similar concept and nicely positioned too.. We are also currently in the same process of getting professional counselors onboard who would be available for users who need professional guidance. Hoping to bring solace to as many people as possible with this initiative of ours !

    Regards,

    Ritika Sharma

  19. cool.. more robust website would be good 🙂 hope this will go high.. all d bst ritika

  20. Japan thrives on anonymity.

Gree and DeNa have massive networks where nothing is revealed.

Can work…But be careful of the Porno guys – the prostitutes, pimps and escorts…

  21. Hey Ritika,
I just went through sharingdard.com and it is amazing.I personally liked it and I already registered on it.

  24. Hey Asha,

Glad to hear from you. We have been trying to create buzz and make as many people register on Sharingdard as possible. Although we haven’t started monetizing yet from SD.However we are doing good with another sister venture “Your Candid Friend”, wherein we provide counselling solutions to corporates and other institutes. One contract in hand, fingers crossed for the journey ahead !!

All thanks to Rodinhood and other such forums to help us provide a platform to showcase our solutions for society.

    Cheers 🙂
