I have a 20 month old son and I thought I had to teach him the rules of life……….till I realized I had it all wrong.
- If you really want something try every way you know to get it. Sometime a sweet smile works but, sometimes you just have to yell the roof off!
- Practice makes perfect. Keep trying and you will eventually get it right. Yes it may involve a few falls and bumps but that’s the only way you learn…. walking, climbing, running…and pretty much everything else in life.
- If someone tells you not to do something, listen to them…then try again after 5 Min’s
- Your today does not define your tomorrow. If you can’t climb the couch today try again tomorrow. Who knows what might have changed.
- A good rest and a full tummy is essential to have fun. Else you are just a cranky baby making everyone around you miserable.
- A smile can accomplish a lot. Especially if it’s a genuine one!
- Move on. If a toy is broken it’s OK to feel bad for a while , but there is always another toy that can capture your interest.
- Believe that there is nothing you can’t do; even if others tell you otherwise.
- Explore. The world is a big beautiful mystery. Be fascinated by it
- Have fun. That’s all there is to it. If you are not enjoying what you are doing try something else.

The child is a master in negotiation . They do not give option . Once they know the body signals are reflecting, they will have their way to get what they want
