“Being an Entrepreneur is like sailing in a sinking ship, you jump from one ship to another till you find a stable ship.”
From last 1 year I was trying to find my stable ship and still trying. but in my journey of 1 year I came to know about few things that, I am going to present in front of you all in this article. “5 Point Every One.”
1. Choosing your friend as your Co-founder: I started my Cyber security firm with one of my buddy , with the thought that It is going to be cool journey if one of my buddy helps me with my work. Soon this decision turned out to be a nightmare and an extra burden that I had to carry for almost a full year. Then I realized that it was a terrible decision.
Learning: Never make your friend, your cofounder just for the sake that you know him for a long time until he possess some skillsets that complements your skill sets and help you and your cofounder to reach your goal.
2. Current Job or Your startup: Every person who has started something, previously worked with some good company. and most of the time they think that they can manage their current job and the execution of their idea simultaneously. But unfortunately in most of the cases its not possible to manage both of them. what I personally experienced that If you want to workout one thing you have to leave another, because when you start something, you have to give your 300% and after giving you 100% to your current job, Its not possible for someone to give their 300%.
Learning: You have to choose between your current job and your startup. If you think it is the right time to quit your job and start devoting your time to your startup. you should do it. But if you think its not the right time then Its better to wait for some more time and then, should jump to startup mode.
3. Tell Minimum to your family (In starting Phase): Its the mentality of Indian family that their children should have a very good salaried job (as compared to pados ki aunty’s son), they always think that having a job is better than having your own business. In my case it was very hard to convince my parents, that I want to start something of my own after they convinced they always poked my about how much you now going to earn? how you work? and the most interesting one “what you do?” (100 times). so I thought not to involve my parents into this and will tell them minimum stuff possible.
Learning: No mater what you do and what well you explain to your family, they always tell you that your decision of quitting job was the worse decision you made. so the best way to avoid extra stress from family side is to tell them minimum possible things about your startup.
4. making your room, your office: Initially most of the startups can’t afford to have a luxurious office, so they start their work from home. setting up their room as their office, but what I personally experienced that you can’t be as productive at your home as you can be at your office or some other place.
Learning: As I realized this thing (also got frustrated from “beta thoda market se dudh le aa”, my mom used to send me to market for some stupid things) that’s why the coffee shop near my house is my new office.
5. Never Loose your hope n believe in your self: One thing that I’ve learned each and every day in my life in last 1 year, never ever loose your hope n believe in yourself, even if no one is believing in you. When you believe in yourself you’ll get all those things that non-believers can never get. just believe in that some person gets success sooner, some gets it late but in the end every one gets it, who tried for it.
