52thoughts – A Creative experiment

I was looking at decks of some Playing Cards yesterday as was struck by a creative idea.

Why couldn’t each Playing Card tell a story?

So, a story told as ’52 thoughts’ ( 13 cards each of Club, Diamond, Spade and Hearts)

Any style – rambling, chaotic, haiku, zen…BS.

The Rule of 52thoughts? Start with Ace and go down to 2 and then repeat the cycle 3 more times – so 52thoughts representing the 52 cards of a deck of Playing Cards.

I want to create a new Art Form of Story Telling with Playing Cards.

If you take a paper and write your thoughts down (could be religious, about being a mom, a businessman or just life as a student), you will notice how amazingly CREATIVE this exercise can be…. I want everyone to experience a Creative Release…

THE STORY OF THE POISONED SWEET

Ace was King Campion’s blind father

King Campion loved the Queen JB

Queen JB lusted after Jack the Ripper

Jack the Ripper had 10 siblings

10 Ripper siblings didn’t get along

9 of them were boys

8 of the boys were gay

7 of them also had girlfriends

6 girlfriends of the gay Ripper boys were ugly tomboys

5 of the Ugly Tomboy’s family lands were annexed by the Ace

4 of the lands had no fertility

3 scarecrows on the lands were black

2 scarecrows came alive at night

…………

Ace had been struck by the living scarecrows in the eyes

King Campion was glad his father was blind

Queen JB was happy that King Campion was also blind (blindly in love with her)

Jack ripped womens hearts

10 women whose hearts Jack had ripped had died of heartbreak

9 of them had cursed Jack

8 of them had their souls reborn

7 were born on the 7th day of December

6 men whose women had died of heartbreak swore revenge on Jack

5 of them wanted to kill Jack

4 wanted to forgive him

3 wanted to warn the Queen

2 of them wanted to Rip Jack the Rippers heart

…………….

Ace liked women. He lent money to peasants in the hope of getting their women.

King Campion had nobler views. He thought that Love conquered women.

Queen JB didn’t care about Love. She liked the attention men gave her.

Jack was from the Dark Side.

10 peasants had come to court to see Ace.

9 of them had carried sweets with them as a gift

8 of the peasants needed loans to sow their lands

7 years is what it took to make a land profitable

6 peasants were fine to exchange their women for money

5 rotations of crops were necessary

4 seasons in a year is what God gave to earth

3 locusts swarms hit the farms each year

2 of the sweet dishes had a deadly poison in it

……………..

Ace was in the court, hoping to see more peasants

King Campion was in his parlor, counting his money

Queen JB was in her bed

Jack was in Queen JB’s bed

10 feet seperated the peasants from Ace

9 peasants bowed their heads when Ace arrived

8 bugles sounded

7 times the Name of Ace was called out as the Emperor of all

6 soldiers quickly rounded up the sweets and took them to Ace

5 peasants looked up to Ace

4 soldiers began tasting the sweets

3 survived the poisoned sweet

2 peasants remembered their ravaged women and killed themselves.

……………..

  1. @Abey – I guess I was drunk 🙂

  2. That way travel sites are good. Like yatra, which told me they have increased the fare for Nepal package but when I reminded, I asked for payment details long back, so why asking for more. And finally they agreeed on previous cost. Same way Make my trip which made a travel itinerary Including visa charges for Cambodia/Vietnam and gave low fare connecting flight to Bangkok which made us to go through emigration / immigration instead of in-transist but later they paid for Thai visa.
But recent experience with eBay India was/is not good. Instead of having a transparent buyer/seller policy they charge for paisa pay and later ‘eBay charges’ extra. I mean, I sold a camera, cut the money in one go. But why sending me an invoice after 2 months and saying will suspend my account even they already cut 1200 rs and now asking for 274 rs more.
