This post comes as a wonderful experience I had with one of the fellow rodinhooders and thus I would like to share the same with you all. My name is Suresh Mansharamani and I am the founder of www.perfumecrush.com. It’s an online portal where we sell branded perfumes.
In the last 18 months, I have attended many rodinhood meet-ups that keep happening in Delhi and it was one of these meet-ups that I met Anamika & Tarun. They together as partners run a communication and branding agency, nailbites in New Delhi. After few casual meetings, we happened to discuss with them about SMO for PerfumeCrush.com and thus started the wonderful relationship with them. I have realized and much appreciated the enthusiasm they put in their work and deliver much more than what is asked for. Few months back they were going to Goa Fest, an ad festival held annually. I received a call from them asking my permission to do a small activity for perfumecrush.com.
All they wanted from us to do the activity was a Perfume Bottle. They got a T-shirt printed (please see the image below) with our logo printed behind it. They hired a model in Goa, made her wear this Tee, sprinkled the perfume on the tee and asked her to move around people having fun on the coast of White Sand Zuri Beach in Goa. The people were asked to guess the perfume which she was wearing and the right answer would win the Perfume itself. It was all fun as one can see in the video (link towards end) people sniffing the model in an attempt to guess it right. They made it all interesting by giving clues and all to help them.
The best part is I never asked them to do anything like this and it all came from their end as an initiative for the brand they were working for.
And here is the surprise! The total expense for all this was Rs 2500. They just asked for cost of t shirt and whatever they paid to the model. No service charge or any other expense.
This is going EXTRA EXTRA mile for the client. I can see that they are going to be very big media agency going forward.
I thank TheRodinhoods that I could meet such amazing people at this forum and got a chance to do business with them. Keep it up Anamika and Tarun and I wish all the very best for all your future endeavours. I will recommend your business to all my friends in my network. In fact I recommended you to friend today when he met us today for lunch. You will soon receive a call. 🙂
I am writing this because somewhere good work needs to be appreciated and as a client I have always encouraged people working with me. I believe that good work should never go unnoticed and there is no harm in appreciating the hard work that the young generation today puts into their profession to prove themselves.
I hope to keep meeting such amazing people over here to have a lasting relationship with them all.

my wish is that every rodinhooder can be another rodinhooder’s client/agency/vendor/supplier/co-founder/colleague/advisor/mentor/friend….
that’s what communities are for, naa?!

I agree with you Asha Ji and I feel belonging and instant trust with a Rodinhooder. This is an amazing forum and thats the reason I have never missed any meet up in Delhi.

rarely do u find people appreciating good work when compared to complaints that follow if opposite were to happen. it was one of the nicest readings i had here in past few days. well let me tell you by charging you just the cost price, they have made an invaluable investment with zero capital in the form of goodwill which may create work for them from the unlikeliest of places!!
best wishes and best of luck

Well said Sanchita. Appreciate is a magic word. See always good in people and you keep attracting abundance of goodness. Appreciate employees they perform better and better, appreciate your wife she loves you more, appreciate business associates they go extra extra mile for you. This is what I have learned in my life and I can say I am very blessed with good friends, relatives, employees and associates.

And not to mention, including me everybody would have loved this idea. Especially now, when I know it was an amazing idea to do more than expected for a customer.

Suresh Sir.. This comes as a wonderful surprise and a memorable read for me and nailbites. And it’s really not very often that you are appreciated for your work on such a credible platform like this. It’s due to the freedom of thought that perfumecrush.com provides due to which we are able to experiment and come out with ideas like these.
This platform is where I have come across wonderful people to work with. It’s never a client-agency relationship but it’s something above that where ideas get shared and exchanged for a better experience for the brand as well as the team working for it. As a communication firm, nothing can be more rewarding than having such posts being written for you. Feeling awesome!

Hi Sunita. Thanks for the appreciation 🙂
Anamika Joshi
Absolutely Sanchita.. Its the greatest reward of all… and it would stay with us for a long time to come.

Thanks a lot Rahul .. The video was shot by us but the editing was done by Kshitij – a third person whom we met through Suresh Sir. He just added life to our efforts!

Well the lessons I’ve learnt from my past business endeavours is not to render any service, which you feel you master in, for free, at any cost.
But if you get clients like Sureshji to move in that extra mile to honour their “ad agency” in this case well I would have to tweak my thinking process.
Very very rarely do people appreciate and value things which they get it for FREE, it always makes meaning when you attach a price tag to the stuffs you sell to make it more meaningful. But I believe in this case since Anamika and Tarun moved that extra mile to serve you they have received such overwhelm response.
I hope that I meet clients as Sureshji 🙂

Dear Pawan
I agree with you in business nothing should be free. But in this case they are already doing a great job and they would have earned the testimonial in any case and lots of referrals. But one thing I have learned in business that if you do little bit more than what you are paid for, you get miles ahead of your competitors.

Kudos to the appreciation giver and the receivers! 🙂 Well deserving praise indeed for Anamika & Tarun.
And for Suresh – among the rare people who do appreciate and more so on a public forum like this!
Felt very happy reading to the post & all the reactions.

Thanks Saraswathi they deserve it and if I hadn’t done it God himself would do it.

Dear Sureshji,
Absolutely true “But one thing I have learned in business that if you do little bit more than what you are paid for, you get miles ahead of your competitors.”
One should always learn to serve more if they wanna earn more. Earn may not be just in monetary terms but in context of blessings, referrals, name and fame too.!
