I usually try to avoid extra dose of social media and limit myself to Facebook only. However, very rarely I login to twitter to check what’s going on there.
On one of those rare days I stumbled upon a tweet by Alok (see image). Being a sci-fi movie fan I watched “Edge of Tomorrow” in the past and liked it as a science fiction and never thought anything beyond that. However this particular tweet raised my curiosity. I watched the movie again and again but found nothing unusual. Matrix was one of my favorite movie and I found it difficult to compare against it. But Alok’s tweet was telling me just the opposite. I got really confused. Finally I thought of checking with Alok himself and ask for his explanation, but “fortunately” he did not reply!
I decided to try my best to find the answers. I was never very interested in reading Gita so “early” in my life but this forced me to learn more about this holy book. As this book seemed too complex for my understanding, I thought of warming up a little before reading the actual text and found this YouTube link (Vivekananda Samiti – IIT Kanpur) useful which have many sessions discussing the learning from Gita. To me this was like getting a map of a real treasure.
That one tweet changed my entire thinking process and slowly changing my life. I finally bought Gita for further study. I still did not find complete answers for those questions but my journey continues and I am enjoying the learning everyday.
I consider myself lucky to find that tweet and also for not receiving a reply from Alok. This is one such bloody good luck which will have a long lasting impact.
