Annual Placement of Social Work Students at Tata Institute of Social Sciences

Greetings from the Career Guidance and Placement Cell at TISS!

 

As you are aware, the Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), Mumbai is a premier Social Sciences institution in India. Boasting of 75 years of teaching and student excellence, TISS belongs to a league of institutions that have shaped the history of this country.


The School of Social Work at Tata Institute of Social Sciences anchors the flagship MA Program in Social Work and a specialized Social Work Masters Program in Disability Studies and Action.  Since its inception, the school has tremendously influenced the direction of Social Work education, research and practice in India and has indeed been a name to reckon with, the world over.

 

The students of the School bring with them a legacy of excellence along with a deep sense of dedication and willingness to engage with the social sector. Possessed with multi-sectoral competencies, thanks to a strong and dynamic curriculum and field work practice components, our students are an asset to any concern in the field of social work and social development. A vibrant diversity of student backgrounds adds more richness to the kind of experience and knowledge that a student of the School would bring into an organisation. Many students also possess prior work experience as well as academic exposure in varied fields, making them the choice additions to your valued force of employees.

 

A total of 140 graduating students are available for final placement in May 2011 from the School of Social Work. We would like to invite you for final placement of our students at your organization and at your associate/partner organizations. Please let us know if you have any requirements and if you would like to take part in our campus recruitment process. The placement week for 2009-2011 batch is January 30 to February 06, 2011.

 

The option for expedited rolling placement is also available. Rolling placements begin within the first week of January 2011. This option is subject to condition special packages in terms of job profile and remuneration being offered to our students.

Please find attached soft  copy of the Placement Rules 2011 and the Response Sheet for your reference and use. Please let us know if  you wish to participate in our Campus Recruitment Process 2010-2011 by December 30, 2010.

If you wish, we would be happy to email you a soft copy or courier a hard copy of the Placement Brochure 2011 for your perusal.

Last Date for sending the Response Sheet – December 30, 2010

To confirm your  participation in placement process, please courier us the following:

  1. Response Sheet (Pl use separate Response Sheet for each Position)
  2. Placement participation Fee of Rs. 3000/- by cheque/draft in favour of “Tata Institute of Social Sciences” payable at Mumbai
  3. Brief description of job on the post for which recruitment is sought
  4. Annual reports of Last 2 years
  5. A copy of your Constitution (Trust Deed/Memorandum of Association, etc.), if applicable
  6. A Copy of HR Policy

The above referred documents  are used  for  slotting a recruiting organization for preferred selection process dates.

  1. A word for Kamal. He may have sounded a little aggressive to some fellow Rodinhooders here, but I completely support his stand. Its the intent of babyoye that he’s refering to and it doesn’t look all that good. But i guess its never too easy to explain yourselves when caught with your pants down. I wish babyoye well in future and hope this incident proves to be a turning point in the way they look at their customer support guidelines.

    But its left a sour taste and only a “Galdi ho gayi, maaf kar do” kind of a statement can work in their favour.
    Or else… give an explanation that makes sense.
