Hi Rodinhooders,
I’m reaching out to you for an urgent help.
Tl;dr:
If you’re an app developer, then we need you help for an app. The purview version of the app has won the Google Chrome App Challenge & thus, would be featured as the featured app starting Feb 15.
The Complete Story:
Google Chrome Hackathon started during the latter half on the last year. During a 6-week long hackathon, app developers were called to work on solving some of the major problems in education via a Chrome App. Our app Action Story was adjudged as one of the top 3 educational apps. It would be featured on the Chrome web store- India homepage as a ‘featured app’ by Google from Feb 15, 2015. Now, since our primary app developer had to relocate back to his hometown & and since, we go live on Feb 15, I’m reaching out to explore if some Chrome App Developer can collaborate with us to complete the app.
Current Status:
We have created the first version of the app and it is live at https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/action-story/giddmficmbhhhahgeapjobfdngcooaga?hl=en
What we need to do before Feb 15
– Improve Graphics (we can handle that ourselves)
– Complete the app by adding more acts (this is where we need your help).
The App Concept:
We felt that any scene can be described in a sentence. Now, formation of a sentence depends on certain variables. The variables could be gender, time, number of people or just about anything. For example, imagine a scene of a boy standing in the rain. A sentence to describe this situation could be – “He is getting wet the rain”. But if I just change the boy to girl (variable: gender); the sentence structure becomes – “She is getting wet the rain”. Also, let’s add some more people in the scene; and the sentence to describe this situation becomes – “They are getting wet the rain”. So, I just changed a few things (read “variables”) and they impacted the sentence. Our app would make students understand exactly how each variable can impact the sentence. The app would start with one scene and a sentence, describing that scene. The user would be given options to change the variables (say time, gender, etc). As he changes the variable; the animation would get changed and a new sentence describing the “changed-scene” appear.

The app is targeted at users aged 6-10 years & we have used Phaser Engine + JavaScript to code it thus far.
What’s on the table:
We can share credits and split the revenues earned through the app. That’s no problem at all.
