We are a B2C business in the Food Retail space and find it constantly difficult to maintain a website, a FB Page, twitter and etc.etc.
I’ve realized that our FB page is the most interactive and works best for us. Can we use our FB page as a website and direct our site to it? What are your views on the same?

Hi Hitesh,
Firstly Congratulations on the Move from Mumbaiya to “Noodle Town” 🙂
To answer your query satisfactorily, for a B2C business Customers interactions and feedback for further improvements with changes implemented should be the means. Doing this could be in various ways, Though now Having a website is not so difficult anymore with various Free and Economic Option available (you can check the many other posts on this subject where a lot of people have already provided suggestions)
Facebook is not PUBLIC domain, so your Customers SHOULD have regular interactions i.e they should be active there to receive and provide the updates and feedback, hence a Facebook page is definitely a good way to start with keeping the posts “PUBLIC” so it is visible to any one and managing the Page as a BLOG would be appropriate as well.
Though in case Facebook decides to block or limit the visibility in the future is still a question, now coming to the alternative of having a website for the same would be a good idea where you have control of having Display Pages with Information and Updates listed, then there could be Customer feedback forms which can be used to collect various demographic, age, contact etc to keep in t ouch with them and interact with new updates or events etc as well.
The website could always be expanded as per needs with new implementations as required at anytime, and you can always have a backup of the same too if you want to move or RENAME again in the Future (Optional) but that is Redundancy which is Manually possible and you lose all the older posts and updates on the older “Facebook” page which served the purpose before the “Incident”
Also it has the Plus factor that the Business has a website domain of its own with emails on the same domain making it look Professional too 🙂
The Website could in fact, also have all the social media listings and Posts Consolidated, there are Social Media Plugins nowadays for the majority that you mentioned in your post above, you can have the Tweets and FB Posts Like and Follow options made available for the customers to interact on your website along with the many other options as listed above.
There could be a lot other factors which would be beneficial if you remove the dependency of any Third party controlled “Listings” and in Time these may be LOST too if they so decide to Remove or change their policies. So it is all now only your own Decision and Ease of use (Templates for design and integration of the social media plugins, make it easier for you to manage any Website once it is Designed in the way that you want it to) which would make you opt for a website along with the advantages of the other Social media Sites that you are active on.
Your own Business Website is YOUR OWN Control – Anytime !!!
Hope I have tried to answer as simply as possible on my end, then there are others who also might have their views on this or add to it too!
Cheers!!!

Hello Hitesh,
Having a Facebook page only is definitely not a bad idea but having a website will definitely add credibility and professionalism to your company. What aspect of maintaining your website, facebook and twitter profile is bothering you the most?
I suggest you read my other post on this forum here :

You can use these free automation techniques to simultaneously maintain your website, facebook and twitter ( or if there is anything else include that also here ) simultaneously. I would suggest you not to discount any channel , be it a website or a facebook page. They all have their own importance which is why I suggest you be present on every channel possible. The above post should help you in this aspect.
