Hi all!
I have been trying to find information about the Board Games Industry in India, and turns out that it is really difficult to find anything online regarding this.
Can anybody help me with this? Any links you know, or any data you have come across which answers any of the following questions? –
What are statistical data for the following questions in global and/or national markets (I can only find stuff about US Market) :-
1) total annual sales of popular board games like monopoly, ludo, Settlers of Catan etc. (Each game separately or cumulative)
2) what is sales share in terms of the following parameters – geographies, time/season, income groups, age groups. (Eg. – What time of year has the highest board games sales?)
3) what is the sales share – online/offline, local retail stores/ chain stores.
4) what are sales share based on price segments; and relevant demographic inferences?
Any information with regard to these (or even some pointers towards where I can get my hands on some information) would be highly appreciated!
Thanks in Advance!
Regards,
Karthik

Not the Board Game industry, but the following article on MadRat Games says that the Indian Toy industry is somewhere at Rs. 13,000 crores in 2015. See the link – Yourstory article on MadRat Games funding
Following link from Assocham says it was around Rs. 8,000 crores 2 years back. It also states the following market share of various brands: Assocham link

Thank you Puneet for this insight. I have recently gone through the MadRat story, but sadly they come from a different segment (in terms of products they produce, and the target audience they have in mind).
The market share info really helps, regarding the players in the market. 🙂
