Celebrating Mother’s Day in style: Internships for Supermoms!

Okay, so all we wanted to do is, make a nice post about Mother’s Day on our (Internshala’s) Facebook page, and we turned to google to look for ideas – almost everyone does that, right?

While scouring the Web, we came across an interesting post by BBC about Indian women with various data. One particular data caught our attention: nearly 69-70% women drop out of job after maternity. Well, this inspired us to do something more than just a nice Facebook post, and we came up with the idea of Internships for Supermoms.

We have partnered with Disney, FedEx, Directi, Kotak Mahindra, Teach for India, and Godrej to offer paid internships to such mothers. Internships are in Bangalore, Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, and Ahmedabad; and from IT, HR, Data Analytics, etc profiles.

If you’re thinking why internships, consider these –

An internship is a temporary commitment

It has provisions to work from home & part time

And above all, a tool to check if one is ready to rejoin the corporate world.

Alright, but how are candidates supposed to apply? It’s pretty simple! The application & selction process is online. Candidates just have to make their application – here – for the internships they are interested in before 18th May, and Internshala will get in touch with the shortlisted applicants, scheduling their final interview with the company.

Hmmm…interesting! But I am afraid I am not a mom (or a mom who is currently detached from work). That’s quite alright. Would be a big help if you could just share this information with relevant moms in your network, and help them resume their careers! Their blessings (I believe) would be with you forever 🙂

awesome initiative guys!! i think it’s a brilliant way to encourage moms to get back to work initially. i will share this over my personal network as well as this is something close to my heart.

have you read my story? how i got back to work after becoming a full time mom after giving up my full on advertising career? 🙂
