Statutory Warning: Please read at your own risk. Because after you finish reading, you may simply find this whole stuff to as “Baba Ji Ka Thullu”:P…
Yes, you may have guessed it right. As I am not a professional writer, you cannot expect ‘Dhansu’ punch lines from me throughout the show but I know you will still read it till end. Because as an entrepreneur we have learnt the art of enjoying “Baba ji Ka Thullu” 8 out of 10 occasions in whatever stuffs we do…: D
As we all know laughter is the best medicine and as I love Comedy Nights, I chose Kapil to help me kill my anxiety when it comes to writing on TRHS….
In my opinion, here are a few important things to be learned from Kapil & his TRP-gaining show:
Keep doing whatever you love to do and dare to do it differently: Kapil’s father was in Punjab Police and his brother followed the same but Shamsher Singh (err Kapil) always wanted to do something else. And today anyone can sense how much he loves doing whatever he does. His endeavor did not stop with becoming a successful standup comedian; he dared to take comedy shows to the next level with his own K9 Productions.
You do not need to follow any script when you do what you love: I have often seen Kapil acting outside the purview of scripts. It is the timing and his spontaneous reaction which makes the whole game a fun. So if you are doing what you love with full conviction, don’t bother about following the strategies of management books. Jump in and get started, everything else will automatically fall in place.
One Man Army does not win wars but a team of naive soldiers can do: If you have seen Kapil since his debut in 2008 in GILC, he has always stood out as a one man army. However, he always knew that to do something great you need a team. You don’t need veterans – what you need is a team that believes in you. See Mrs. Sharma (I mean Sumana). Therefore if your team believes in you, believe in them. And let their creativities charm the stage.
Create something interesting and let the masses participate in your content delivery: To me the most amazing thing about Comedy Nights is: it allows audience to participate and interact. And everyone seems to be enjoying that. Innovate an interesting product, platform or concept and let the masses participate. After all customers are always the best engineers. I call it Golden Ocean Strategy…https://www.therodinhoods.com/forum/topics/red-ocean-vs-golden-ocean-strategy
Try and bring big fishes on your platform but choreograph it on your way: I guess one of the key success ingredients of Comedy Nights with Kapil is that they are able to attract some big names on the show as guest stars. How big the celebrity may be, the team Kapil does things their way. I mean the same irresistible Guthi & the same hilarious Dadi. Till you are doing it right and if getting traction – keep the rules simple & same for everyone.
Face all the roller coaster ride with a smile on your face: You just started something and a sudden fire. Approx 25 cr in swaha. All left is simply “Baba ji Ka Thullu”. And in next show you are supposed to make people laugh and smile!! I was amazed to see Kapil making fun of this tragedy in his very next show – bravo. Don’t let tragedies kill the spirit of your show – The show must go on 🙂
PS: This is only my very second attempt trying write something on TRHS, I hope you all will bear with me. And if you have been bored while reading through – I am sorry I can’t do anything 😛 “Baba ji Ka Thullu”
Best Regards… Amar Pratap Singh
