hi guys ! thanks for the wonderful replies last time !
alright guys ! now this is something that a lot of you might relate to.
in the process of setting up any kind of a website we usually do a lot of brain storming before finalizing a name for our website. in the process we end up buying a few domains that seem important to us at that time , but rather they just sit in our accounts unused forever.
i have a question here :- is there any way we can generate any kind of revenue from those domains ? specially when we would never use these domains to redirect it to any of our live websites ? my thought process is towards some kind of an seo , placing adds and stuff like that.
what i just asked , does it make any sense at all or is it just an imagination ?
if it makes sense please enlighten. if it’s pure imagination please point it out to me and ignore 🙂
looking for some interesting discussions ahead !
thanks again !!!

What are the names of the domains you bought? If they fall under the “most used –insert language here– words” you could make good money outta it!!

Thank you for pointing out the post Asha…
Gunjan, I think what you are looking for a is a parking platform. There are quite a few out there. One of my favorite domain parking services is Above.com. Its basically a platform that allows you to split traffic from your domains with different companies, such as the ones mentioned in the comments (sedo, skenzo) among others….all under one umbrella.
If you have .in’s or Indian related domains we have recently put together platform.in for this. It works a little different than your typical parking service in that you as the domain owner (publisher) have control over the advertisers that are displayed on your domain. Advertisers can create listings or upload their banners, and once you approve them, they will be showcased on your site. Advertisers will bid CPC (cost per click) in rupees, to list their products/services on your site. The higher they bid, the higher they will be listed. The Advertiser interface allows them to see what other advertisers are bidding, so they can adjust their bids at any given time in order to get listed higher and get the exposure they need.
The Publisher interface allows you – the domain owner, to see the number of clicks and impressions that you have received, and track revenue. All CPC revenue generated from your domain is split on a 50/50 revshare.
You can see an example of what a domain on our platform would look like here:
https://www.jahaz.in/
Anyone interested in your domain, can either BUY, LEASE or ADVERTISE on your domain by clicking the appropriate links at the top of the page.
So to answer your question, NO its not just your imagination…. its our imagination too. With the growing number of domains in the Indian space, a service such as this was much needed and we hope to have you join our platform soon.

I’d probably want to steer clear of any type of trademark infringing domains. Maybe with a small site, its not that big of a deal, but once you get bigger, they WILL come after you. With those domains not really being “category killers” per se – try out Above.com.
