Do you know if potential investor even looked at your pitch deck before saying No?

Hello All, I would love to get your feedback on our early version of the product we are working on.

Do you find it frustrating that you send a pitch-deck to investor or a product intro to a customer and you have no idea if and when she sees it, and what portion of your document catches her most attention?

To solve the exact same need, we have built a new product called SendArrow which would allow you to publish your documents (ppt, pptx, pdf,…) and track if ‘John’ saw it, what time they saw it, which page he spent most of the time. Will tremendously help you decide and customize your next follow-up action when you are engaging with ‘John’ next time.

To see it in action visit this presentation and go till the end of the presentation by clicking on the next slide button. On the last slide you will be able to see how you engaged with this particular presentation. Imagine being able to see all this rich data when you share your presentation with potential customers, investors or anyone else!

Below is a sample screenshot of my engagement with another presentation.

Sounds Interesting? Please sign-up below and we would randomly select and sent invites to our beta offering. Thanks in advance!!

  1. hey ruchit,

this is so so cool. i checked out the ppt and loved viewing my engagement on each slide of the ppt!!

am sure folks in analytics are gonna love this product.

quick academic question about the branding – did you guys do any research on the name SendArrow?

  2. Hi Ruchit.

Tell me how is your product different and better then https://issuu.com/ we have been using their product since long and it does what your product offer.

We can also create public and private link with option to enable download and print option etc.

Take a look at our corporate profile here – https://www.issuu.com/72interactive/docs/72interactive-compay-profile

    Regards,
    Amit

  3. It gives you certain amazing data on :

    1. Time Spent on each pages
    2. Geo Location
    3. Device
    4. Traffic Source
    5. Impression / Read Time / Avg Time Spent

    Regards,
    Amit

  4. Hi Asha, The way my process works for naming product is this:

    – Whats the Vision for the solution. Based on this we came up with bunch of random/cool looking, sounding names, which made sense and some didn’t.

    – We had several possible shortlisted names, for which we took quick feedback from our friends/family to see how they react to it, can they say it, can they understand it etc.

    – Then looked into if web domain is available for booking, social media handles are available etc.

    – In our case we want to help our users identify their potential ‘targets’ (customers/investors/…) . So we are giving an ‘Arrow’ to our users which when they sent will help hit the targets, hence SendArrow.

    That is it.

  5. Thanks for sharing about Issue Amit.

Big difference we have here is focus on different market segments. Issuu seems to be focussing on ‘Digital Publishing’ worlds, which is more attuned towards online magazines, where as our focus is towards on ‘productivity’ for sales & executives.

While feature set may have some overlap between us, difference in market segment focus puts us in altogether different playgrounds and it would show up as both companies evolves in respective focus areas.

    Hope this makes sense.

  6. Ruchit, Honestly, I (and you) know that investors seldom look at decks when we send them in mails etc to them.

99% of the time, its a face to face meeting that explains the pitch and then a couple of slides really become the debate in the meeting that makes the discussion a hit or a miss

I think this can have a lot more use for education, learning etc – even the MOOC sites could use this as a tool for presenting content better?

  7. Hi Alok, Core of this concept is being able to track audience engagement on your documents, so that you can make better informed decision for the next step. This next step could be two different type (1) use of this data to effectively engage with your audience e.g. make a informed phone call and/or (2) use of this data to improve presentation content itself.

There is wide range of possibility here from using it for investor pitch over email, sales presentations or even learning/training domains. We do not know at this moment where we would find most resonance and ROI, although I have some hypothesis which needs to be tested. I chose to mention investor pitch use-case here, just because this forum is full of entrepreneurs.

For pitching to investor scenario, you are right that many investors don’t look at deck, but those who checkout probably have more interest than others and that information itself can help entrepreneur prioritize few things. Being able to know that investor X have checked out your deck 3 times in last few days is a strong signal. Being able to know if investor X has forwarded a deck to few people is also very strong signal.

We would never close a deal just on deck (sales/investor/…), but our assumption here is that these ‘signals’ can help you in prioritizing your time and help focus more on things/individuals who matter most.

  8. Hi Ruchit indeed a nice idea and I second Alok that this can be better used to track learner engagement and improve the quality of content.I would love to connect with you as I do lots of e learning consulting and I would love to understand how can I use your tool to increase learner engagement. Please drop me a line at mandar(at)tedhknowsmart(dot)com and we shall take it from there.

  9. Would love to connect and explore Mandar. Looks like there is a typo in your email ID, can you confirm the same again. I am available at ruchit@sendarrow.com

  10. Ruchit, I was going to answer Amit too. My response would have been similar.

You should check out our product https://paralleloapp.com a similar product but purely focused on sales enablement.

  11. Yes Indeed I dropping you a test mail at your Mail ID and mine is mandar@techknowsmart.com

  12. Ruchit – Nice name. This is an interesting idea. Couple of questions:

    1. Does it integrate with email or is it a standalone service? For me personally, when I send documents via email, if there is a plugin that I can download once and use it when I want to send documents…that’d be awesome. I can of course go to SendArrow later for analytics.

    2. If I’m correct it tells the time spent on each slide, right? but how do we know if the user spent more time because s/he didn’t understand certain thing and was frustrated + trying to get it vs. was genuinely engaged. Time alone doesn’t tell much, right? On the contrary, I could be spending just 5 secs on a slide because I get it.

  13. Hi Rishi, great questions

1- For now we plan to start with standalone service, which would allow you to email from within your SendArrow account. In future it might make sense to create an email plugin as well.

2- Very good question. There is no way for us to tell at the moment why they spent lot of time on slide. One possibilities here is that we can allow end-user to ask a question from that slide, which sender can respond, in asynchronous way.

You should sign-up for beta list (http://www.sendarrow.com), if not already. Would love your feedback.

  14. Done. Look forward to it. 🙂
