Ask For Help

Do you really know the Politics of Business? If Yes, Can you answer this…?

Hi Fellow Rodinhooder,

I’ve always had this question in my mind for a very long time and I thought to put it down in words and see if some of you can really analyze and answer the following question.

Straight to the questions:

Why do the person who comes up with an invention (say a new product), most of the times does not get the necessary recognition atleast when it comes to the commercial part.

Ex’s: The person who invented the email doesn’t get any benefits… Players like Google & Microsoft are earning big time with their emails services….To read more, https://www.inventorofemail.com/

The person who invented the mobile doesn’t enjoy the benefits. We can see many brands selling it but does the guy who invented the same get some money out of it?

The person who invented the DTH does he get any money at all?

If this is the ground realty, then why on earth do we have patenting etc..?

This is the politics of business in today’s world… do you know why?

Looking for some answers from YOU!

  1. Its the difference between the scientist and the business man, scientist always like to invent new things, where as business man always like to market it . That’s how companies grow up, take any company  pepsodent, colgate, P&G, Reliance, ITC any company  they say they got good scientists on board who always work and come up with new invention . These companies pay lakhs of rupees, provide best facilities where the scientist can feel a better life. think not all scientists become business men or not all businessmen become some one who create or invent .

  2. You are right Sai. But think of the guy who invented the email… he was neither hired by any business but they end up using the email service and they make tons of money. I feel that there is some thing very grave in nature.

Same is the case for DTH and mobile phones… these inventors were not working with any organisations. Then why should other businesses use their invention without paying anything for the guy who builds it. Your views.

  3. Hi Karthik,

I believe their is a difference between Conceptualizing an idea and commercializing an idea. Creating was the passion of the inventor which he did, and marketing is the job of businessmen which they do. For the sake of whole civilization it was necessary for a bizman to spread the technology which he won’t do without a motive of profit. Scientist and inventors seldom hv the ability to spread it to the world but they do their job for the passion. Check out the story of Dr. Jonas Salk inventor of Polio vaccine, he didn’t patent it for the sake of humanity or else he’d hv made $7 bn.

So if you feel the inventors of email, mobile, dth didn’t get their due, try to probe why didn’t they sue the companies in court of law, may be because money didn’t matter to them. But like you even I feel, companies should pay them a royalty for their contribution but may be those scientists don’t think like you n me and must be busy creating some other device.
